Full Version: Looking for Applescript can convert wma into quicktime reference movie

Anybody can help? I have like 6GB Wma files and don't want to convert them all to mp3 or aac. I think Quicktime Reference file is a good choice, it is small and can be imported into itune...

AppleScript by its self can't convert video files.
You need something like VisualHub.

Ignore the poster above me. If AppleScript can convert Word to a command line interface, it can do this also. You'll need to have QuickTime Pro to make it work, though (and therein lies the rub of AppleScript commands--you can't bypass QT Pro).

The reference file relies on the other file existing, so if you do anything with the other file, the reference movie may not work. So I'm working on the premise that

It would be much easier if GUI Scripting still worked, but unfortunately it isn't. You can use the "export reference to" command to export it to whatever file AppleScript supports. Just drop it into the Automator "Run Script" command and tweak it to your liking.
