If the output device has this name, then you´re using the wrong driver, use AppleHDA Patcher v1.17 and a codec dump for alc883.
Not Working: Everything Else
Patcher Version used: 1.18
System Version: Tiger 4.10
obs: Only two channel out from speaker port at the back. No headphones, no inputs. I have an MSI 945GM3-F motherboard. Better than nothing, though. 1.18 is the first patcher version to give any sound for the card/motherboard combo.
edit: Second Try with Patcher v1.17
Working: None.
obs: No inputs/outputs shown at all in Audio Midi Setup. I've seen that many people on this forum are having trouble getting anything more than 2 channel out working with this soundcard/mobo combo. It's ICH7. I've attached the dump I used (which I made myself in ArchLinux) as well as the IOreg dump. I'll also send them to the appropriate email address. Back to v1.18 with the weird output name :/.
edit 2: Back to Patcher v1.18
Working: None.
obs: Suddenly same result as with 1.17. The first time I used it, it probably didn't get rid of Skippy's Azalia kext properly. Got excited for a bit there.
Thanks again, for all your hard work, Taruga. I have a lot of respect for someone that does something of this magnitude for the good of the community!

Dont worry im confused as well. I thought this board was a realtek board but when i did a linux codec dump it reported it was a AD1988B. Im guessing the latest ubuntu detects it incorrectly or doesnt have the drivers for it. I will do some more hunting around and post more info later.

Soundcard Model: STAC9271D
Vendor Id: 0x83847627
Working: Everything is working with sound out
Not Working: Can´t test Mic as i have no microphone. I saw signal there. No sliders for Mic.
Patcher Version Used: Kext install with the files from here:
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=18344and then the kext helper v0.7
System Version: JaS 10.4.8 updated to 10.4.10 with Koolkal´s comboupdate. Using the SMBIOS.kext 1.0.1 from Hackint0sh.org team
Obs: Internal Speaker should be called Mic. I do of course not know how it should look with all features. Maybe there should also be slider for Mic gain and input?
I can confirm it works on Intel DG33TL board with 10.4.10.
Kext helper is here:

Have also tried several close sigmatel files from this website - running the HDA Patcher as root and comes back as successful. Then on reboot unable to load kext when i use my own codec file. Says "Not a package." It will load the kext using the other (9200) codec files but still shows as no audio devices.
attached codec0 file.

Working: Internal speakers, headphone jack, SPDIF (docking)
Not Working: stereo jack (dock) Internal Mic, Mic-jack
Patcher Version used: 1.2.0
System Version: Leopard 10.5.1
obs:
- OSX finds a mic, but none of them are working correctly --> I steel need to try it out in linux
- I'll still have to try with Leo & a newer version
- I have to manually select the destination of the sound (spdif, internal speakers or jack) is this normal ? didn't have to do it in XP, in Vista I only have to select SPDIF or all others together. if i unplug my headphone then my internal speakers work automatically
- dump was created in ubuntu 6.x, I might want to try a newer linux version
extra:
attached codec dump gives support for spdif via the docking station where other dumps didn't for me
