Is anyone running a MOTU firewire card with their hackintosh? I'm having some troubles related to my Ultralite. It runs perfectly but when I'm using it I have crashes and when it's off I don't.

Hello smile.gif

My system:

Asrock 775dual-vsta
intel e6400
nvidia 7300gt
2gb ddr2 ram
pci firewire card.

I think my firewire pci card may be the problem, not sure yet.

It does not crash all the time. wink.gif

Have tried 10.4.9 uphuck and 10.4.10 XxX.

Will try Leopard soon. I'll let you know how it goes.

What is crashing ?
the finder or the audio application you are using
I've never got working DP 5 on a Hackintosh nor in Tiger neither in Leopard

It varies. One situation I can reproduce every time is: running Logic 8, I try to bounce a project that is just audio, no instruments. It's a long project, over 1 hour. At some point during the bounce Logic locks up with spinning beachball, after a while it takes out the whole system. Mouse moves but nothing works.

If I use a usb soundcard instead it bounces fine.

Hi,
I'm running Moto828 Firewire without any problem.
My Logic 8 works fine, only a few 3th party plugs
don't work (eg. Izotope..)
10.4.10.
MSI 975X
X1950 video.
M-Audio Midi Midisport 4x4 (no problem)

Crashes in leopard.

I've just ordered a new firewire card, hopefully that will fix the problem smile.gif

It's crashes many times, distorted sound sometimes muted in this case i cant do anything only the restart helps.
I tried many drivers like the latest one 1.4.9 and i tried several old ones like 1.4.1...1.4.4 with the same result.
The firmware is 1.15.
