I can get 2 channel output working with the AppleAudioAzalia.kex

However, I am in dire need of SPDIF functionality, as all my speakers are controlled by an external receiver.

I've tried everything I could find on this forum to no avail, the only thing that gives me ANY sound is the aforementioned Azalia kext.
Any other attempt to use AppleHDA results in a complete lack of any sound input/output devices.

Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve to get digital output from this soundcard? Everything else works SO well, it would be a shame to have to waste a bunch of money just to get sound out of my computer...

I'm happy for you, however your motherboard uses the ALC882 not the 888, so it's irrelevant to this thread.
