I found a solution to my sleep problem. I used the 9.1.0 Vanilla kernel instead of the 9.1.0 ToH kernel. I really appreciate everyone's help here!

Do you guys have issues with disutility and/or ejecting your cd drives? My cd drives more often than not refuse to eject and the disk utility occasionally locks up. If you guys have any suggestions feel free to comment.

***Update fixed it, i plugged the keyboard into the front port of my p5w and it woke up fine. It has something to do with the back usb ports. Will test more****

Hey Stronzo, I have had great success with my p5w running vanilla 10.5.1 on guid efi v8, but the only thing is my sleep only works with my power button, I can't get it to work with my usb keyboard. Wake works perfectly with power button but when I hit the usb keyboard or the mouse the screens stay black and the fire wire light on my sound card comes on then off. So it wants to wake up but something is stopping it.

*Update, I can put it to sleep and then insert a usb thumb drive and it wakes up! So I have no idea why the usb keyboard will not wake it up properly

I have tried every possible bios setting, so now I'm wondering if it's kext thang.

any ideas?

I have the same problem. I have a G15 gaming keyboard and the only way I can return from sleep is the power button. Anyone find a fix?

I also have the G15 keyboard plugged in to my HP w2207h display, wake from sleep works just fine.

***edit I just realized you use a ps2 keyboard(duhh), I'll try and see if a bios setting will work, although I don't think mac programs their computers to wake from ps2****

I plugged my keyboard into the front usb and then it would wake up. I thought it would only wake up from the power button too, but then I would plug in a thumb drive in the front and it came on. I have no idea why the back usb ports aren't waking it

So what's the scoop on onboard wifi? Some people say they have it working flawlessly with the realtek 8187 drivers, others say it is very unreliable. I unfortunately tried out the realtek drivers to find out that my network would endlessly disconnect a few moments after i connect. Can anybody tell me or point me in the right direction to finally get my wifi working? Thanks in advance

Well I have been trying to get wireless working on P5W DH Deluxe. It is not easy. I really don't need it but I'm up for the challenge. I finally got signal showing in the realtek utility but no luck connecting to the internet or having it show up in my other network lists on my other macs. Here is a pick and I'm working with a friend on the irc. He'll help me tommorow.

I did what you said OneMansTrash and I plugged my G15 Keyboard to the front USB and low and behold, WAKING FROM SLEEP WORKED! I dont have a need to push the power button ever again! Thanks for your discovery!

Does anyone know how to get the 4th Master (The Orange SATA) to show up in Leopard? Thanks!

. . shut down & unplug from the mains; remove all jumpers controlling the 'EZ-Backup' IC.

Restart & the LH orange SATA works as the 4th ICH7-R port.

(the EZ-Backup' thingie is a Silicon Image 'Steelvine' SATA-splitter: removing the jumpers disables it)

I have this same problem too. I believe the reason for it is because you are using a chipset driver that properly detects the ICH7-R. I remember installing Leopard on my machine with the Kalyway Bootable CD + the ToH RC2 DVD and didnt have this problem. Now I'm using the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD and I have this problem. With ToH RC2, the SATA controller comes up as a 'Generic AHCI Controller' whereas with the Kalyway 10.5.1 it properly detects as an 'Intel ICH7-R' because there is an eSATA connector on board.

I would like to stop my system from detecting the SATA disks as external too, but I don't want to get away from using the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD either.

Does anyone know if the EZBackup or other RAID options work? How would I set them up? Which is better?

Edit: Ok, so I setup my drives on the EZBackup cuz I had no idea where to start with the ICH7R. Here are my XBench scores for both tests:

Hi sorry to bother,but i have a problem.Ihope you can help me,i tried almost every release of patched Leopards(Toh,Kalyway,Iatkos),during the installation and disk utility everithing goes well but when trying to boot the installation it simply doesn´t work,it just retsrarts after showing the ˝Loading Darwin˝ message or it sas that the HFS file is missing.I did everything exactly by the guides made a MBR made it bootable and it still doesn´t work.PLease help

Alright, I have one more issue. I have my 2 drives setup in a raid, but the IDE Configuration settings are set to Standard IDE. Whenever I change it to AHCI, I get this screen:


Does anyone know how to get AHCI working on the EZBackup? Should I switch to ICH7R? What ports control the ICH7R Raid?

Alexlyc: your score without Disktest is amazing. Very nice. But there must be something wrong with your disk config because it slow it down very much.

NVM, I just decided to keep it the way it is.

I never had any trouble to use the EZ backup ports in raid mode - ahci or ide didn´t matter.
two raptor´s on the EZ Backup gave me only 80 points in xbench.
meanwhile I´m booting from a raid0 with a sil3132 card with a xbench of 120 in tiger and unfortunately only 105 in leo (only disk)

Just a quick note, I didn't see any mention of it earlier in the thread:
Makes sure Execute Disable function is ENABLED in BIOS, if you want to boot the vanilla kernel. I've seen guides on the 'net saying to disable it, but it only works for me with

EIST: Disabled
C1E: Disabled
Hyper Path: Disabled
XD function: Enabled.

Just download the driver and gui at http://www.realtek.com.tw and search for 8187L software.
That will enable your onboard WiFi.

Did you go to System Preferences -> Network?
It should says it found a new network interface and should then be on in the list. Its not called wifi there, just Ethernet (en1 or 2 or 3 etc).
Don't forget to APPLY it.

Hi, I'm just wondering what exactly your wifi settings are like. Are the settings in Network Prefrences on Automatic? Are you connecting to a network with WEP? Everytime i try to connect it only stays connected for about a minute, and then disconnects (until i restart my computer). I am using the 8187L driver from the realtek site and have enabled the connection correctly in network prefs. Thanks.

Hmm went back to BIOS 2004 and still problems. Should be running vanilla kernel that's included with the kalyway release so idk what the problem is. Anyone else have this?

Hi, I'm trying to make my Wifi Card work (Mobo ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, Processor Intel Core2Duo 5500 2.33Ghz, Video Geforce 7300GT Dual monitor working, 2 Western Digital 160 Gb. HD. System OSX86 10.4.10, Koolkal update from JAS 10.4.8. Runs great!). I'v allready installed the realtek driver (MacOS10.4_Universal_Driver_1.4.5_UI1.4.7.zip) and the utility runs smoothly, but in "Link Status" my card appears as "disconnected" (there's no green light also in the back panel).
Am I missing some configuration? do I have to make some tweaks on the BIOS? or is just that there's no wifi network around?
Anyway i would like to use my hackintosh as an Acces Point, so i can connect my laptop wirelessly, is that possible yet?

Note: You need to backup your existing AppleSMBIOS.kext, ALCinject.kext & AppleHDA.kext before installing the update.
Time machine is still working after the update.

Have not yet tried the Graphics Update, though.

only today did i install iatkos 1.0 on my box (mobo asus p5wdh deluxe) core2duo E6400 o/c 3.0ghz pci-e saphhire x1600 ultimate 256mb,

and eveything worked right-off even, sound!!!. the only problem i have is that i can only boot from the dvd in the drive!!!? how can i make my leopard partion active and bootable seeing that it is annoying to have to use the disk all the time. itried using the darwin boot from the utilities but still nothing!!!!! any help would be dearly appreciated!!!plz pm me or reply in the thread

Using Kalyway. I select the RealTek wireless from the customize.. but when I install using this option, I lose all of the onboard NIC on the P5W... When I don't install with RealTek it works fine. Anyone know what is going on?

**Update** I guess when you select the realtek driver from the customize it probably doesn't install the on board NIC driver in the P5W.

Installing 10.5.2 atm, wish me luck. I am going to try the Graphics update as well and see if my FPS in WOW goes up from 30fps to 50fps like in Windows.



Update went smoothly following the above guide! I'm now at 10.5.2 with the Leopard Graphics Update installed as well! Gotta love this motherboard!

WOW is running at 40fps as opposed to 25fps! New drivers are awesome!

I'm using the Kalyway 10.5.2 comboUpdate with Vanilla 9.2.0 kernel. I just had to remove the NVinject drivers to get rid of the black screen problem, then re-install the NVinject drivers after the upgrade was complete.

Hey guys, i am reading on insanelymac for about 2 or 3 weeks now. And i am trying to install osx on my PC for a while now!

my Hardware:

Asus P5WDH Deluxe
E6600
GF 7950GT
4GB DDR2 Ram

i have the kalyway 10.5.1 and no matter what i try to boot from the DVD it doesnt work!
no difference with using the "vanilla" mode and verbose mode tells me only that the IOATA Bus was not available or something!

Can sb tell me what changes i have to make in my Bios Settings?
