Motherboard P5VD2-MX (my Asrock setup works perfectly, by the way!)

JAS, all flavours - no joy: sata hard drive not visible
Kelaway 10.4.10 - no joy: sata hard drive not visible to installer
Uphuck - almost, using r14 rev2 - very excited at that point - installs... but... kernal panic freeze during boot from hard drive
Uphuck r1.4 rev3 - no joy: sta hard drive not visible to installer

With the exception of Uphuck r1.4 rev2 none of the OS X modded install DVDs see my sata drive, either through the regular Sata or the Jmicron. Has anyone tried making an editable ISO and putting in vendor IDs? I met someone who did but I couldn't understand his instructions, found elsewhere on this board. A hell of a lot of people used this board because it was dirt cheap, would be good to know! Many, many thanks if anyone knows smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

For those searching! iATKOS was able to see my P5VD2-MX's Sata drive to install to it but I went no further so can't tell you if it would boot without problems, though I imagine it would. Instead I installed Kalyway 10.5.1 and it worked fine. Using the Pentium D processor I wasn't able to install the Vanilla kernel but that's go great loss. Things are up and running on GUID and I'm quite happy. Taruga's AD1968 sound installer didn't work for me. Some experimentation to find which of the Sata sockets would work but an easy install. I though you would still need a graphics card but I use an old PNY Geforce 7300 and it works fine when selected during install.

It has been a long wait! Champagne corks?

Interesting that you managed to install using the Kalyway 10.5.1 installer - I tried it with no success on a PC with this m/b. Am downloading the Aitkos installer at the moment as it's the only one I haven't tried as yet.

The TOH rc2 went well but wasn't able to see the FAT32 partion I had made for it.

iAtkos didn't work either - kept getting stuck after a load of text with a message that reads something like '.. failed after 2 attempts. We are going backwards here!'. Or something very similar.

Anyway - you cannot change the the SATA to IDE in the BIOS (Pheonix Bios), so I think this mobo is pretty much useless to use with SATA.

However, in the TOH rc2 that I did manage to get to the installer page in Mac OSX setup, I looked on the system profiler and saw that there were no SATA devices listed BUT it listed both my IDE DVD drives. So I assume that this board might work with an IDE drive.

Has anyone managed to get this mobo working with an IDE drive?? (I would try it myself but I don' have a IDE drive to hand!).

I used Kalyway 10.5.1 installer on this motherboard. I have 7300 LE and use natit. it work with quartz.

the problem were no sound and ethernet didn't work. when i install i check mark the wifi ethernet. don't know if that was the case. i did not use sata or test it, because i don't have any hardisk with sata.

has anyone got the sound and the ehternet working??
