Would Apple replace the headphones that come standard with my iPod? The right earpiece quit working, and they're coming apart. The iPod is still under warranty, but I bought it from Best Buy. It's an Apple warranty, not a Best Buy warranty though....
Only reason I ask is that I usually go to sleep with my iPod. I'm a third shifter, and a lot of times some soothing music helps put me to sleep, and I don't have a stereo in my bedroom. I have some quality headphones, but I don't want to sleep in them....

I am fairly certain Apple will not replace them. Sennheiser do some cheap similiar ones for about $20 USD
I have some sealed new Apple ones but I am in New Zealand

$20?! Aaack!
Like I said, it's no big deal....
I just can't imagine they wouldn't do that...I mean, they'd replace the connection cord if that went bad, wouldn't they?

They replaced mine when 1 of my headphones started crackling. Replaced my moms, my friends and innumerable other peoples who's headphones made noise or broke etc.
So yes they do replace them.

Sweetness. Should I take them back to Best Buy? Or could do that at an Apple store?
Hmm...Prob. Best Buy.

Apple Store, along with your iPod, so they can verify your serial number is under warranty. Also it helps in hearing crackly noises, headphones don't crackle much when not connected to something.

They replaced a friend of mine for free when it was still under apple warranty and he bought it from best buy. Go to the apple store.

Get a good set of headphones, the iPod headphones are really terrible sounding compared to any other headphone I've ever used, the Sony... idk the model, the ones that go around the back of your head are the best for under 20, hit up amazon. AKG have amazing sound, but they're a little big... if you don't mind them being huge and want a great sounding cheap set of headphones, get the AKG k55 (little over 20, but studio quality closed back headphones). I've mostly seen the iPod headphones as a joke and more of an accessory than a piece of equiptment, I personally don't need to advertise for Apple, and the white earbuds are an apple advertisement now.

Yes they will replace them. I even made up a BS response for them just because I wanted new ones and they sent me free anyway.

Exact same thing happened to me...I smell a lawsuit coming.

Don't know if I'd go as far as a lawsuit...
I ended up getting an iPod touch about a month and a half ago, so I got the headphones from that. My video pod just stays in my car hooked up to the stereo...safe in the glove box (I have an external control and display for it).

Without AppleCare: $15 (New)
With AppleCare: Free (Replacement)
Prices in USD for México.
The warranty is international, they should have similar replacement programs and prices.

Since we're talking about headphones and earphones here, can anyone suggest some really bassy ones? I love me rap music.

Sennheiser cx300, great bass and really good at blocking outside noise, and they look better with an iPod touch than those god awful white ones that come with it
