i have a big question about streaming live video over the internet on a mac. what program can i use for this video streaming? in windows i use windows media encoder to encode the live footage and then send it to a video server like streamwebtown.com but i can't find a solution for this on mac osx, i know that mac osx server does have a streaming software to stream video on the web but.. i dont want to pay $500 for mac osx serve. is there any way that this can be done on a mac. thanks

quicktime broadcaster and wirecast are the best i've found. use wowza server to stream to flash.

Also If you like you can create a flash application to stream to flash. there are a couple of these, but I use the stock example that comes with the wowza server.

on the pc side the on2 vp7 codec is bada$$. Flash's encoder is pretty good and free
