Dear All

I have succesfully installed OSX 10.4.10 (using koolkal update) on a system based on the gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R motherboard.
Everything work except for the ethernet port.
I am connected via a Thomson cable modem, wich connects to the computer via ethernet.
After installing the RTL1xxx kext following the procedure the onboard RTL 8111B chip is recognized and i can connect to the internet at full speed.
However after a few minutes everything hangs, the screen grays out and I get the message from the OS to restart the computer.
Has anybody experienced similar problems? How did you solve it?
This happens also with jas 10.4.8, 10.4.9 and different kernels.
Is there any other kext that I should install with RTL1xxx or should delete when I install it?
the same thing happens whether I install it manually or through the koolkal installer.
Apart from this everything works (graphics, performance, sound etc. etc.)
Please help....

I also forgot to mention that the sistem that I am running started from Jas 10.4.8 SSE3, then updated to 10.4.9 and 10.4.10 by koolkal including the kernel updates contained in the installers everytime, choosing the SS3 options everytime.
My processor is an intel core2 duo at 2 Ghz and I have 2GB of ram in dual channel configuration.
my graphic card is an asus 7300 GT equivalent.
In a sort of a way it remebers the problem mentioned by hackemon in this hardware forum recently about kernel panics during high speed transfers.
I am sure it is due to the aforementioned kekxt because if i remove it everything comes back to be fine and if I plug the modem through the USB port it is recognized and works ALMOST fine.
I say almost fine because when the modem is by usb I get constantly temporary cut outs in the connection.
When the modem is plugged to my old iMac G3, running the same original os version, through ethernet everything works fine, so i guess it should not be a problem of modem drivers by osx.

Yes it does, the restartscreen keeps on comping, I solved it by buying a PCI ethernet card.
and WIPS! problem solved,.
