my XFX 6800XT has always played every game i've thrown at it, and works 100% perfectly with the titan driver and osx86, but then I downloaded Bioshock this week and it runs slow as all hell! system specs in signature. anyway, i need a new mid-range card that is pretty much guaranteed to work with my current components.
if your recommendation is an ATI card, are the ATI drivers easier to install than the Nvidia ones? Patching the kext files took me FOREVER to get right, and now that I have it perfectly, i don't really want to change.

This is pretty simple. Either get the ATI Radeon x1950xt (Sapphire is the best for compatibility)....or get an Nvidia 7950GT. Both can be found in 512MB or 256MB versions (the Nvidia requires a flash to work...take a look at aquamac's site for which card). I am getting the Sapphire x1950xt 512MB because it is slightly faster.....but not enough to make you HAVE to go ATI if you do not want to. ATI is better with direct-x games in windows....both are close in open gl. Obviously I do not know (yet) which is faster in OS X. But I suspect they are close. Hope that helps. Search Jccool for the radeon thread and google aquamac to take a look at his page. I think he has the NVidia stuff in the downloads section....you will find it. Good Luck....and let me know how things go with whichever you choose. BTW....no direct-10 card works....although I think a while ago I read about someone getting an ATI HD2600 working....but I cannot find it again....so I may be incorrect.

Thank you very much! Seems like newegg is out of stock on both of those cards haha. I guess i'll be waiting. I think I'm gonna go with the ATI though.
