I dont know if this is the right section, but since its regarding OS9, I think its ok...

I've been haivng trouble with my bondi blue imac (rev A) since I got it. It has been doing the following:

- Display cuts out when resolution changes
- Display will only turn on if you unplug it and then plug it back in
- Display will randomly cut out
- In OS X, will not recognize any USB devices except a keyboard and mouse

I havent been concerned about this because everything is working so far.... but as of late, I have had another problem: Mac OS 9 wont boot properly. The machine boots fine in OS X 10.2, but in OS 9 it boots to the point where you see the menu bar (nothing on it, though) and the desktop, and then the display cuts out. I can tell its still alive because I can press the power button and hear the dialog come up, shortly by having the dialog be spoken to me. I tried booting from an OS 9 CD, but that is also plaged by the same problem. There are files I need to get off of it and I can only do so in OS 9 because OSX is not recognizing my thumbdrive. Help?
Specs:

233mhz G3, 192 mb ram (128 + 32), 4 gb HD (planing on replacing with 13 gb after files are recovered)

ok, does the display trouble happen in OS X?

OS X has all the display problems OS 9 has. Is there an equivelent for Disk First Aid for OS X 10.2, or can I use the OS 9 version in classic mode? (Assuiming your right about the corupted OS 9 partition)

oh {censored} im so stupid smile.gif i just remembered that my (old) powerbook suddenly got most of those "symptoms" when i brought it into the store the guy said it needed a new motherboard for $300(which is like 20% of the cost of the computer). but it could be the corrupted thing as well blink.gif

I hope the m/b's not dying... thats the part I value most in it... anywya, I found a way to trick it into booting... turns out, it for some reason starts up in OS X's resolution and once it gets to the desktop, switches, thus trigering that problem. I loaded up the Monitors control panel from classic and set it straignt, and it booted just fine. Thanks for the help! Now I can only hope my Tiger instalation through XpostFacto can go as smoothly and quickly... oh well
