Please advise me how to make sure whether my CPU is working as Core Duo or as Single Core.

Actually my PC couldn't boot unless I enter "CPUS=1".
Otherwise it keeps rebooting.

But after boot, open "About this Mac", then it says "AMD 3800 Athlon 64x2"

In that case it boots with Core Duo? or Single Core?

My CPU...「Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ SocketAM2 BOX (65W)」
MB...「GIGABYTE GA-MA-69G-S3H」

Just check for the number of processor cores in System Profiler (about this mac - > more info...).

Just don't confuse "Core Duo" - which is the trademark name of an Intel processor - with "Dual Core" - which means any processor (including your AMD and the Intel Core Duo) with two processing cores.

How can make sure that the 2 CPU's are working well?

In my case it seems that just 2 cores of ONE CPU works, or maybe just 1 core of BOTH CPU's are working?

I appreciatte any help about this matter, it's the last step to finish on my hackintosh to get full performance.

Thanks.

Use Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.

um, you have only one cpu with 2 cores, there is no way you can have 2 cpu-s with only 1 core each.

use the activity monitor. if it shows 2 bars for cpu load then you have 2 cores working. as simple as that.

Thanks Zoig,

Yes I have 2 activity bars, so I have working just with 1 CPU. It's possible to enable both of them for full throttle? wink.gif
