Has anyone else had any trouble getting their optical drive working. It is recognized and mounted when booting from the install CD (that's how I installed OS X in the first place), and I can see it in the drive utility, but when I boot into OS X I get nothing. If it makes a difference I'm running with a Gigabyte GA-965g-DS3 mobo, connecting the Lite-On LH20a1h to the IDE port as a master. This is the ONLY problem I'm having, so it would be awesome to get it resolved. Thanks in advance.

I´m having the exact issue on my Inspiron 9300 but with a different DVD-RW drive (toshiba something).
If there is somebody who knows how to mount that again after reboot help would be very appreciated.

I'm having the issue with a HPZV5000 with a Toshiba SD-R2512 DVD/CdR drive.
Installed from the drive fine but doesnt show up after re boot.
