Since i'm ill for a month and a half and need to rest the whole day, i have much time, so i thought i build a website. But there's one problem: i have no knowledge of html and i tried to build a site before with dreamweaver, but it looked very old and ugly. Does someone can recommend me a very easy What You See Is What You Get website designing program? The subject of my site is computers (mac and win)(and there will be some free and shareware software and some news etc.... tongue.gif ). It must look 'mac-ish' or 'vista-ish'. The most templates of those website builders are ugly and look very old, but i want a website builder (or templates) that makes my website modern and up to date.

Get RapidWeaver and it's available plugins. It's the best WYSIWYG website creator out there. If you want some visual proof, check out this great video tutorial site: screencastsonline.com
Here's a list of what you should look at:
RapidWeaver Part_1
RapidWeaver Part_2
RapidWeaver Part_3

Rapidweaver 3.5 Update
RapidWeaver 3.6 Update

RapidWeaver Plugins Part_1
RapidWeaver Plugins Part_2

RapidWeaver is a real easy to use, robust, flexible, template (you can also make your own) based web editor. I really recommend it. Not to mention that it totally blows iWeb away.

There is also a great collection of themes on the little green demon wink.gif

There's always iWeb.

Not particularly advanced - but it is easy and creates nice looking sites.

both on mac i suppose... i removed os x86 a time ago because i needed more space for my xp (and i have a geforce 4 mx, so i hadn't any hardware acceleration under mac os x) and my real mac is a g3 imac and that's to slow (i suppose, it's 400 mhz tongue.gif )

are there good windows apps?

Use Joomla, its easy and the best.

Joomla is a Content Management System and not a WYSIWYG editor, bro.

I have tried several windows apps but none of them come even close to iWeb or RapidWeaver.

@ SpeedfreaK:
If Dreamweaver's existing templates do not satisfy you, there are many commercial templates available for it. For example, there are the ProjectSeven (PVII) templates (www.projectseven.com, demos at www.projectseven.com/products).
These can usually be found... were you found dreamweaver wink.gif

thx!

Just a sidenote, WYSIWYG editors are usually not as configurable as plain code-editing designers. It would be more flexible to use a plain-code one.
