I have a CISNET PC Mid-Tower nothing fancy Pentium4 w/HT 2.93GHZ Nvidia FX 5200 agp card but I keep the access panel off and keep the inside exposed?? BUT I have a little table fan that I keep aimed at the mobo and running at low speed IS THIS A NO NO?? Should I keep the computr covered??
All depends on the CFM of the table fan at that speed.
Although it may look weird, it CAN be more effective heat wise and dust wise over the standard setup the case as.
But like already mentioned, its hard to say as every system is different and placement of cables, cards, drives etc can change what may have been a decent case layout.
Edit: I had a motherboard that had dried cola all over many of the chips and the only way to keep it from overheating was to use a 12" floor fan. (Prior to cleaning it at least.)
