No, the problem wasnt that, I renamed it to ".img", and I could use the install and device disk.But I always had error problem.

Got rhapsody (thanks bwhsh8r)

I tried installing Rhapsody on Q but its very unstable, keeps locking up during boot and will sometimes get as far as opening the window that lets me install drivers but the mouse won't work i tried every build of Q i can find but same happens with all of them.

does anybody know where i can get Bochs compliled for OSX (intel) all i can find is 2.1.1 for PPC and source code for the latest version. (im a mac user i like my software ready made )

Thanks for your support in me getting copland and rhapsody up on demonoid! My very first torrent! I'll upload Copland after I get it to work (So I can provide basic instructions) and I'll update the Rhapsody torrent with the Floppy Image program very soon.

Many thanks to Rhapsody Guru for providing the Bochs guide, it will help me a lot when I make my Rhapsody in a Parallel Universe (Rhapsody in a Bochs, get it? (Parallels)) guide, and of course I'll credit both of you. I forget how I came to this forum but I'm glad I did!

P.S. Rhapsody Guru - You should put your guide in the Genius Bar section, I'll do so with mine. I will also make an iPodLinux tutorial for that section, I am very active there, and I made the iPod Application Manager.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Actually it is possible! Use QEMU with the ppc SYSTEM ROM and have System 7.5 preinstalled in a VM before you install Copland.

Dude... you need the "qemu-system-ppc" application file in your QEMU dir and use that for your PPC based machine. Btw... to ease the pain of QEMU config hell, you may want to consider downloading QEMU Manager. You can download it by clicking here. QEMU Manager is an awesome frontend for QEMU which helps with virtual machine configurations! FANTASTIC TOOL! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have acquired a dell poweredge 2200 server (nasty but free ), its a P2 266 with 64mb. im planning to try Rhapsody native on this big ugly thing.

Anybody know of an osx app that can extract those floppy images back to real discs using a usb floppy drive?

iou can do it with dd, we must only guess what is the "skip" factor to apply. i tried without and it booted, but had some files corrupted

All I'm getting in Parallels after setting everything is a gray screen with no cursor...

Does anyone know how to handle this?

AriX, you dont have a non corrupted rhapsody ppc, try and extract the stuff in the .gz it wont work.

Alright... what I did was totally MAD, but it worked:

I opened Parallels and booted into Windoze... from there i installed Bochs and used the guide... and it worked: Rhapsody working in colors at 800x600... but it was hwll slow...

I still cannot figure out how to make bochs work in OSX... now it tells me that the graphic library (I tried several... carbon, X11, SDL...) isn't installed.
I don't know what to do, please help.

P.S.: if you want I can post the picture with Mac OS X with Parallels and Windows which has inside Bochs with Rhapsody in the Laugh section

Mac OS X --> Parallels (Windows) --> Bochs (Rhapsody)

EDIT:
Now Bochs in Mac OSX works through DarwinPorts... and it's even slower than Bochs in Windows inside Parallels.

EDIT 2:
After playing around a bit with Bochs options I manage to have a decent experience with Rhapsody.
I used Bochs in Windows inside Parallels, because OSX Bochs is too slow.
The problem, obiously, is that if I want to use Rhapsody, I have to boot Mac OSX, open Parallels, boot Windows, then, inside Windows, open Bochs and boot Rhapsody...
Too complex, too slow overall... however, I'll try resurrecting my old Pentium 233 MMX with my Matrox Millennium MGA, which is supported by Rhapsody.

I had around 260258 problems in few seconds and had not solved nearly half of them in one afternoon...
please, specify WHICH problem you're talking about.

Actually, you were wrong. Remember the x86 rhapsody? Try to mount that. That doesn't work either. When used in conjunction with the install floppies, this image should boot.

I managed to install onto an old PII PC, and a 3 years old Compaq laptop too. Its much faster, and I had fewer problem than running it with virtual machines.

Did you try extracting the rar with StuffIt Expander on Mac?
If you send it to me or upload it I can work on it.

i finally was able to expand the file (the ppc one, right?) and mount the iso, but it is definitively corrupted: i can see the files, but most of them doesn't open or opens as a casual text file. strangely the acrobat 3 installer seems to work!

the ppc one is .gz, i will send you a copy don luca to see if you can get it open but i get "unexpected end of archive" and the other one is "....toast is corrupted" (thats the file inside...)

i tried it on virtual pc 6 for mac and it froze, un guest pc (on mac too) works well.
