Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to make AppleTV work on TiVo as an HME application. I really hate tivo's streaming music player and the movie player sucks because you have to copy the whole movie and save it. Porting BackRow for Mac.app to a java binary with all of the tivo HME specefications and using the AppleTV plugins, it seems like it would be easy to make an HME application with server always running.
Would This work? Would this be too slow? Does anyone have the source to backrow? (my impression is that backrow is an app like frontrow made someone else -- am I wrong?)
thanks,

I don't know where to begin. BackRow is what people are calling the ATV OS, right? this is not open source, so I have to find a way to run the binary and frameworks thru java. I know java can run cocoa commands, but i don't know if that would help and that the tivo could run the cocoa stuff either. Are there any tivoers here or should I ask again on the tivo community forums?

You're probably going to have better luck on the Tivo forums. Don't think many folks here actually have Tivo.
