I found the 10410 update on tpb.
I thought I would start an actual Asus P5W DH Deluxe thread for all us that have one so we can discuss issues it has with the 10.4.10 Combo Update and hopefully feed off each other and get some answers.
Working great!!

Followings is more detail.

Running 10.4.8 right now.

I tried running the 10.4.10 update and my onboard sound didn't work afterwards. Would you please post what you did to reinstall the onboard audio drivers again? Maybe I'm missing something simple. Thanks.

which one did you download and run? what's it called? does sleep work?

I installed MacOSXUpd10.4.10Intel.mpkg.zip and I haven't tried sleep mode.

@Tek- use Pacifist to install ALC882 AppleHDA v0.4b.mpkg again. This fixed my sound issue!
thefinalprophecy
i have the same sound problem. where/what is this "pacifist". i installed ALC882 Apple HDA v0.4b.mpkg and restarted but still no sound...

nvm, got it with the Apple HDA Patcher and the ALC882 Linux codec dump

Kaspers has put together a good guide on upgrading from 10.4.8/9 to 10.4.10 for PW5 DH Deluxe, including a solution to the audio problem. I followed this guide and had no problems upgrading from a Jas 10.4.8 SSE3 Intel Only PPF1 PPF2 installation straight to 10.4.10 using the Mac OS Software Update.

Info can be found in the "Asus P5W DH Deluxe thread for JAS 10.4.8" thread. Try it out and report back.

Followed these instructions to get to 10.4.10 and all hardware still works except now I tried to run Disco and it says the program failed unexpectedly. I tried reinstalling it and its the same thing. Also, Toast doesn't seem to want to run. I click the icon and nothing happens. Both programs worked before upgrading to 10.4.10 from 10.4.8.

My DVD drive is found by the system correctly.

Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Fixed again... had to reapply a change to Info.plist for my Radeon card. Didn't think that would have broke it.

Nice instructions... thanks!

I had JaS 10.4.8 and used TPB update. I was stuck at the blue screen after reboot, only having a cursor. At that exact time, my internet was down due to a storm. I thought I would try an "upgrade" back to 10.4.8. Now I have a severely crashing system. Oh well.

BTW, the only reason I wanted to do this was for the iPhone. otherwise 10.4.8 was working great.

Is your DVD drive connected to the JMICRON IDE controller? because mine connected through the IDE is still not recognized?

still three small problems:

1.waking from sleep causes a reboot - I can live with that

2.changing the language shows only the right one in "finder", the rest of the main menue is still in english. installed software appears in the correct language - not that important

3.canīt get the two onboard realtek nics working at the same time. one is connected to a 100 mbit, the other one to a gigabit network. is it possible that the system canīt handle two different speeds? - a solution for that would be nice

Thanks to everybody here for all that helpful informations - now I have a rockinīmachine wink.gif

Question: Do you get the 2 disc initialization error dialog window popups after booting? It seems somehting related to EZ backup. I dont have my two drives plugged to this tough. Apart from that. It is perfect for me as well.
peach-os
no I didnīt get something like that.Iīve set the jumper to raid0, connected and it started working rolleyes.gif btw.....Iīm using the newest bios
it recognized it as one external disc immediately......wrong jumper settings?
BrazilMAC
I have 2 Internal 500GB SATA Drives connected to SATA1 and SATA2. Jumpers are set as default, I did not change them at all. Where should I have them connected to? Is it better to setup the 2 discs as RAID or leave them separated? I want no mirroring, as I understand that RAID is for that purpose. Would I have faster access is setting up a RAID ????
peach-os
yes - itīs faster-have a look on the xbench files I left in the earlier post.you have to use the orange ports.for raid0 you have to set the raid jumper to the left two pins. I have installed my osx on it and use it as boot device - but using raid0 means: backup regularly!
