I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with an Intel® Celeron® at 2.40GHz, 384MB DDR SDRAM, 40Gb 4200RPM HD, OS X Intel 10.4.3 build 8F1099, Intel i845 GPU, yes, I know, it's not much, this is how I'm trying to make it better, by adding a good GPU into it. It has PCI slots only (!). So. . . which video card do YOU people think I should get? I do a lot of gaming and will intend on running most games on medium-low settings (especially when they're natively re-compiled). Remeber, PCI cannot interface with addressable RAM, as AGP can, so I need a large amount of VRAM. BTW, getting an AGP board isn't an option I am able to do in this situation. I know about the macvidia project, I hope they will have a working complied-for-10.4.3 driver Kernel Extension soon. Ok. . . so which one should I get?

Nevermind, I now know that the GeForce 5500 core is an NV_34 (GeForce 5200 core) on "steroids". The 5700LE is a new core (NV_36) with two more vextex units, hyper-shadow technology, and IntelliSample™ (???). BUT, the 5700LE has 1/2 the memory bus width and 1/2 the VRAM of the 5500, oh well. . .

Well! Build 8F1111 patches are out, to my knowledge. This should fix a good amount of OpenGL issues, especially with games and rosetta emulation. I just hope that my 2.4GHz Intel® Celeron® can handle Halo Demo well enough to be playable. . .
