Can't find working drivers for Canon LBP 1120 (usb).

Whe you are in the Printer Setup Utility

- hit Add button
- then when the list of available printers appear hit the more printers button but holding the Option key (in PCs keyboard is the windows key)
- in the first list button select advance
- then the second list button changes
- then select Windows Printer via SAMBA
- write a device name
- in the device URI type the smb://user:password@the.ip.of.your.windows.pc/shared.printer.name
-in the list button of the printer model select HP
- in the list of the printers select one of the compatible PCL printers

I believe the LaserJet 4 could work, select one of the Gimp Print drivers I believe they work better.

- now hit the add button and test, try other models if this doesn't work.

Does the parrallel port is detected by Mac OS?, I don't have it enabled in BIOS as I don't use it anymore, as my serial ports.

Parallel is enabled in BIOS..but no where in Mac OS X is it mentioned....

OSX86 is great!! but I have a problem with my Lexmark Z605 USB Printer

I downloaded drivers for Lexmark official site. Drivers installed successfully. I can run Z600 Utility and I see level of color and black ink. However, when I try to add this printer to system I have a problem. When I use trick from wiki, driver loads to the list, but when I choose Add, I see an error Error:-9672. Is it any chance to use this printer in OSX86?

I got a very similar problem, KZEZ1986, but with my Lexmark P6250, ...i can't add it in the Printer Utility....HOW CAN I DO IT???...i don't know where the driver is....can you help me???

Does your Lexmark Printer does PCL, PCL5, PCL6 or PostScript?

You can use generic postcript printer if it supports PostScript, if it does PCL you can use HP laserjet II (basic PCL).

If it is a Inkjet search a Gimp Print compatible "driver", there is a site for Gimp-Print http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3

Just thought I would add that my HP Color Laser Jet 2600 works great.
I had to load the software from the cd that came with it before OSX could find the correct driver (also had to reboot)

Also printer is connected on my network, not by USB

I have problem on the scanner of the HP PSC 750xi. I installed its driver for MAc OSX 10.4.3 from hp.com. Printer is great working but scanner.

Try vuescan.

My Brother HL-5250DN laser printer works. The printer comes with a CD with OS X and Windows drivers. The printer has ethernet, usb, and parallel port connectivity. I set up the printer as a network printer and it works flawlessly in OS X 10.4.3.

Has anyone gotten the lexmark X6150 to work?

Trying to get a HP Deskjet 648C USB to work under 10.4.4. All HP drivers were installed on system install. I thought I plug it in and it "Just Works." Not so though. When I try printing, the light on the printer blinks a couple times like it's recieving information, but then nothing. I've tried adding the printer again which no results.

The print Queue says "Jobs Stopped". If I press "Start Jobs", the printer light blinks twice again, it says "Processing Jobs", then back to "Jobs Stopped" again.

Anyone have any ideas?

Lexmark E120 USB works on my 10.4.6 system, i m install lexmark printer drivers in system DVD, and add to print center but i m useing E220 driver, it s working good.

If you are sharing the HP printer (or any printer really) from OS X to XP, then in XP you should select one of the Apple LaserWriter drivers for the printer. I generally choose the very first one listed in the printer selection dialog box under Apple.

For Samsung 2250 I used the ml-2150 driver. It worked fine, although I was using it over ethernet via the built in print server...

Iam having a real problem with my Canon i320 driver.... i have it connected to my windows computer and on my os x 86 mac Iam unable to print via my network... When Iam in the print utility sees my printer but there is no driver I can see in the listing under Canon... I searched the Canon site but there is only a powerpc driver I tried that one and set the print utilty to run under Rosetta but still I cant see the driver. On the apple site they say the driver is included but I cant see it... I also tried Gimp print stuff but there is also no Driver for the I320 i really dont know what else I can try. (The strange fact is that it works perfectly when I connect it directly to my mac.) I would really like to have a solution or an alternative driver like the Gimp that is working for it.. because Iam not planning to buy a new printer because of the expensive cartridges and I cant connect it to my mac either...

I had installed the HotIso 10.6 and my usb hp 1315 printer would not nor could not be recognized. I just installed the GoatsecDVD 10.4.6 and their was a package something like USB 10.4.3 and I installed it and now my printer works!!!!!

So if your usb printer does not work find the usb 10.4.3 patch and that may help!

Same thing happened to me with my hp 1315. I erased all references to hp and apple.com.print in my library in the main HD and in my user folders. Do spotlight hp and print! Then I repaired the disk permissions with /utilities/disk utility to the entire OSX hard drive
. Then I reinstalled the HP packages. I also made sure usb legacy support was off in my bios setup. Then I prayed and rebooted! My printer is working for now! No scanner or multi-function though. My kodak camera is not recognized though. No promises but it worked for me...

HP DeskJet 940C, connected via USB. Detected and configured *entirely without prompting* by the user (me). Drivers included with *all* x86 versions of Tiger known. No downloads needed. Truly *PlugnPrint*.

Additional Information: Drivers are available via Software Update for this printer and Leopard (included with the HP Printer Driver Update for Leopard); this update *does* work for SSE2!

Samsung CLP-510 color laser, USB. Got the latest PPC drivers from Samsung, runs great. Have gotten a 'page doesn't fit in memory' a couple of times printing from Photoshop, but don't know what might be the cause. Windows prints these fine.
I'd guess all the CLP-5xx's work with the PPC drivers.

Are there any drivers for the Dell 810 Photo All-in-One? I searched a bit and couldnt find any... are there generic usb drivers that will work?

fwiw, Epson r210 works via usb and HP LJ1100a works via samba. I'm using Gimpprint 5.0.

I didn't see these reported anyplace so forgive me if they are duplicates.

I have no printers connected directly to my system - IBM ThinkCentre 8187. What I do have is an HP LaserJet 1200 connected to a Hawking print server so all systems on the home office lan can share it. This worked with no extra effort except to define it as a remote lpd printer.

The second, more interesting printer is an Epson Photo R800 color InkJet. It is connected to one of the WinXP systems and marked as shared. I could not get the OSX Epson drivers to install, so I went to the Epson web site. They said that the drivers distributed with OSX 10.4.x were for PPC systems only and they had an Intel version to download. I got those drivers, followed their install instructions and they installed without problem.

This now allows me to print, in color, on a remote WinXP shared R800 printer.

Hope this is of some use to someone.

I have trouble with my HP DeskJet 815C....I'm running 10.4.6 and my printer is detected out of the box, the calibration and the test pages just work fine, nice color and exact scale. But when I try to print out of an application like mail, OpenOffice or anything, the font's are bigger than they should be but the bottom of the Letters is cut. Looks like the printer couldn't print the font. Looks really strange! Would be very glad if someone could help me!

Thank you Godfather. I got that driver a while ago and yes is the only one working. The only issue is that for some weird reason that I did not discovered yet, sometimes the printer works sometimes not.Everytime i boot in Mac OS I'm asking myself, it will print this time? Very often I find myself rebooting in windows just to be able to print a lousy text.
Could be the USB or the driver, I don't know.

I have the too old Laser Printer: CANON LBP-800, I don't know how to install driver and use it in my Hackintosh MAC OSX Jas 10.4.8 (Semthex's kernel)! I try to search but it seems this one don't have any drivers for MAC OSX!!!

I've got serious trouble with network printing....I've got a HP DeskJet 820 connected to my windows xp prof PC. The rpinter is shared. If i try toconnect the printer via windows, everything's fine...but when I try to connect via Samba (MAC OS X / LINUX) i can't print...there are no error messages....when i make a rdesktop session to the win xp pc, I can see, the job is written into the queue, says it prints but nothing happens! What do I do wrong??
