I'm trying to get the networking working on my nx9105 as you probably understood. If I go System Preferences --> Network I can see "Built-in Ethernet" in the list, but I can't get an IP-adress from my router. Instead it sets up an IP of it's own, much like Windows XP does. It looks like 192.154.x.x instead of 192.168.1.x as it should. I tried installing the tulip thingy but it's still the same thing. Is there anything I can do to get it working?
The network card is a "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC" according to the windows device manager. The wireless card is a Broadcom 802.11b/g card if it's any easier getting that to work. I see that some people has reported that my card works fine in native, but I can't seem to get any further than that. I guess it's just me not getting the settings correct, but this is my first experience (ever) with Mac OS X.
Also, a way to change the resolution to 1280x800 would be nice. Nvidia NV17-card.

Alot of this depends on whether you're running 10.4.3 or 10.4.1; which do you have? If you're on 10.4.1, your Broadcom should work if you download the patched Darwin kext, which you can search the forum to find. If you're running .3, the Broadcom isn't working yet (if ever). As for your ethernet, you could try entering a static IP address instead of letting it try to grab an IP from your router. Lastly, the 1280x800 resolution isn't possible at the moment in either version. I'm anxiously awaiting widescreen support on ATI/nVidia cards myself

I have 10.4.1. Is this patched Darwin kext the same as the network tulip (darwin_tulip-x86-1-0-0.tar) I tried earlier? If not, could you please point me to it?

The tulip didn't work though as I said earlier.

I think Jesus does not use Compaq, so many neither.
The tulip driver does not work for Realtek cards AFAIK
Did you tried to put an IP address manually?

Yeah, that doesn't work either. It's the same problem alot of people have been describing with wireless cards, except this one isn't wireless.
