I see alotta videos of guys running Osx on Apple TV, now I look at the specs it looks as it could be a nice set-up, but are they really able to be used a an actual computer??

it boils down to what your going to be using it for. The processor is a 1 ghz singlecore intel-something. For simple things like word processing and email, yes. But it really can't handle what makes a Mac great (besides the UI) like advanced videoediting and highend graphics.

The proc is a Pentium M too, so no SSE3 meaning crappy Rosetta/PPC app support.

You must be kidding.

With only 256mb ram, I'd throw it out of the window before it can even finish loading the system.
Save yourself the pain and get a mini instead.

I was thinking the same thing

My friend is happy with os x on his G4 1.33 ghz and 256mb RAM. The Apple TV is about the same speed. It's fine for iTunes, web surfing etc. So, yeah, it can be a full functional computer. But I mean, it's not exactly the speed demon now is it? tongue.gif
