And no it runs at almost the same speed than the original, because it just adds the Win32 and DirectX API Calls to OS X and doensn't emulate a whole PC.

Alright. I'm going to try SimTower and get back to you all. I know it's an old game, but it's a classic.
And I'm only doing this because SimTower Mac is only for PPC and will only run in Classic mode or OS 8/9.
After that, I'll try out some more fun stuff such as Rainbow Six: Vegas.

EDIT: No dice for SimTower. I wonder if it's just because it's not a 3D application. That really shouldn't be the case as Cedega (the basis for Cider) is designed to run any Windows apps.
Also, going to try Star Wars: Battlefront later as well as Tribes 2.

EDIT2: I couldn't get Tribes2 to work, either. I don't really get it. I copied all of the necessary .dll files and edited the Info.plist but still no results.
Also, I'm not going to try Rainbow Six: Vegas because it's SM3.0 only and Cedega only supports SM2.0, so I'm pretty sure that it's same to assume that Cider only supports SM2.0 as well.

I got oblivion to Kinda work, the only problem is the mouse seems very sensitive, even though I lowered the sensitivity, anyone have any ideas?

Okay, this is kind of pissing me off. I've tried 3 games now and none of them work.
Apparently, Oblivion and SimCity 4, NFS:U2 and NFS:MW work. How come none of the games I tried work?
Would anyone care to rewrite a tutorial or something? Obviously, I'm missing something very important.

i have NFS:Carbon working perfectly. but i don't have surround sound, is there a directx plugin i should add to "system32". plus the colours are a bit screwy and i have the wrong resolution, and i cant use the custom res changer because im not technically in windows....

I spoke som3on3 yesterday on irc, and he said he coudn't get it working with 10.4.9
So basicly everyone who got it working here is running 10.4.8 or lower ?

I'm running 10.4.8 Tubgirl Final (for MAD) with 10.4.9 Upgrade by Myzar (for AMD). But I haven't tried to many games yet (because I don't have them all installed), I'll try GTA: VC today and perhaps some Sims-Games (cause my sister should have them installed on her PC).

Oh and I almost forgot. There's another cider game out there. It's some WoW-Clone Online Game. You can find informations on the cider Homepage. Maybe someone can try to run something with this one, cause I had no time to research to much about it, but the "demo" for Mac is only about 40mb. Good luck.

Again GMA 9xx series is not going to work as they lack of Hardware Pixel Shaders and other complex stuff. On the other hand , DX8 Games would 'just work' fine

HOMM5 works with Intel GMA, manual says, but Myst has in plist file, that Intel GMA 950 OpenGL Engine is "InsufficientRenderers". On my Intel PentiumD SSE3 + 5900XT + 10.4.9 none works, in console i get "wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger..." or just black screen or black screen with mouse cursor

Anyone know how to edit the Registry in transgaming?

This is exactly my problem on 10.4.9, even though I also tried the same things in 10.4.8, I always get black screens before the main video of the game, then I'm thrown back to desktop. My console sais the same thing as you.

Is there a workaround for this error:

"Cannot find 640x480 video mode"

This comes up with GTA 3 and Vice City.

Tried Tomb Raider Legend, Virtua Tennis 3, or Sam & Max.. All don't seem to work. Managed to edit the registry manually editing the reg files in Transgaming. It seems games that have some menu before launching the actual game (to configure the resolution, etc) don't work.

And yep, NFS does work on my hack.

Morrowind won't work, at all, odd because Oblivion at least ran o_O

Will try San Andreas when I've got more time. Oh and I could'n get "Sims: Life Stories" to work, too. Seems like NFS-Titles work best at the moment.

for all testers, try change the windows version frrom 98 to xp
from /Users/your-username-/Library/Preferences/Heroes of might and magic V preferences/config
edit that file and change from
"Windows" = "win98"
to
"Windows" = "winxp"

Will do in 15 days, don't have the time for now... Deleted all the games... Anyway I tried Command & Conquer 3 in win98 mode and it didn't run.
And this is where the registry is... So maybe the games didn't work because of the registry... Will modify the reg as well puting the right keys in it, but not now.

tried need for speed most wanted.
it's definately playable.
the speed is a bit choppy though.
and the sound aswell (probably due to my USB sound card - can anyone confirm the choppy sound?)
and there's a few gfx errors such as black shadows from objects and cars.
Other than that... I'm pretty amazed it works O_O.

Going to try other games tonight.

P.S. does anyone know if games that require DVD/CD's will run?

Just wanted to say that there is no need to copy game files. I made hard link to game folder on win partition and everything works. That's in case of NFSC.

That's not totaly right, I think. If it need the CD/DVD to check for copy-protection the answer is no, definitiv, but just loading files from a cd/dvd is posible. Just add a new device to ./Contents/Resources/Preferences/config. Something like:

Sry, same for me with GTA Vice City. If you've got an Windows Installation (unlike me), then try to change the resolution inside GTA to 800x600 or whatever and try to find out where it saves this setting (registry I guess), check LOCAL_MASHINE/Software and such stuff. When you're lucky and find something we can use it to make GTA on Cider happen.

RO runs even on wine at platin state, so i should run very good at cider (even crossover mac (note: it's not crossover *office* anymore) should do the job quite fine).

Tried to get Counter strike 1.6 -non steam to load, but to do that i need to get into hl.exe. and switch to Counter strike, is there a exe which runs counter Strike directly....

I tried to play counter strike 1.6, and i followed all the steps from this thread. Too bad, I am getting an "Application quit unexpectedly". Any idea why this happen?

Got GTA San Andreas and Hitman Contracts working. Changed "VertexShaders" = "N" in the config file to fix graphics on both but having control problems the mouse is way to sensitive on GTA so it's impossible to control the camera but the keyboard works fine but on Hitman the mouse works fine but the game can't see keys to map them how I like apart from that they run sweet on my iMac any idea's.

the game is working great but as i mentioned before i only have limited resolutions. im on a 24" imac, so 1920x1200, the max i get is 1280x768 or something weird like that.... everything is distorted and weird...


any help would be appreciated....
