Im sure the game installer can be an applescript, I think the first post should also be a list of Playable, working, and nonworking games, Playable, means runs at decent speedsand all controls, Working means it starts, you can do some stuff (like oblivion) and Non working wont start at all (Like Morrowind)

i don't think that this should go sticky or something else
cause according to guys.. this is illegal sad.gif

Yes, certainly it is, but it is not more or less illegal than installing Mac OS X on plain x86 PCs wink.gif
NeSuKuN
this is only illegal because it use prebuilt binaries for which we have no license, if we were able to build our own from cedega sources... things would be quite different.
MacApprentice
Did anyone checked their CVS/SVN/Whatever™ repository? Cider should be there, if not it would break the GPL licence of Wine. I'll have a try at this tonight.
mac-mini
if anyone finds it build it intel only because its n ouse in PPC tongue.gif

Uh, Cedega is NOT illegal, and thus Cider isn't. You a suppose to have a full copy of the game for Cedega and you should for Cider. The only illegal thing here is pirated copies. If you use legit copies, all legal.

Hey too all !

I read the thread from the beginning and tried some games and configs in the last 2 days:

NFS Underground 2 ... Speed perfect, Reflections arenīt always 100% accurate
NFS Carbon ... Speed is okay (in 1440x900 i get aroung 25-30 frames) , Gfx working perfect
Richard Burns Rally ... Speed is perfect (1440x900 gives me 45-50 frames), Gfx working perfect
FarCry ... Speed is okay (1440x900 with almost all details on very high gives me 40-45 frames), Gfx working perfect if you turn Shadows down.

I a m working on configs for Test Drive Unlimited and Colin Mc Rae .. letīs see how that works out..

Some problems i encountered... I gave a friend of mine the games i tested, but each game wonīt start with an error
(wrong MacosX Version). But if he starts Cider directly .. the game starts flawlessly.. we tried to edit the info.plist to a lower minimum system version.. but that didnīt help..

My System:

Intel Core 2 DUO 6300 @ 3,00 Ghz
2,00 Gigabyte DDR667 Ram
Gigabyte 965 DS3 Mainboard
Xpertvision Nvidia 7600GT 256mb VRAM PCI Express
MacosX 10.4.9

Will try more games tomorrow...

I downloaded the CVS source from transgaming this afternoon (WineX, it seems they kept the old name for the OS version), it's just a nightmare to compile the damn thing. I always get libjpeg.h missing no matter wich libjpeg package i had make/installed (I did try Fink libjpeg packages and libjpeg 6b with the OSX patch, still no luck. Itseems I miss the libjpeg-dev package)
I anyone know things about deving on OSX and want to help feel free to post or contact me.

Not so sure about that.

I've currently got Madden 2006 running with it on my Opteron.
U.C.
It has SSE3. AMD 64 3000+, 939 Pins. I will try NFS MW. It worked fine on my Intel.

It works perfectly well on AMD machines. I got SSE2 Athlon 64 3500+.

Apple just announced at WWDC that NFS Carbon is to be released for Macs in July.

So is this a Cider port or a native port? (interesting)

Edit: Madden 08 and Tiger 08 coming too.

This is what I thought too, when I was listening to the WWDC keynote.
There will also be 2142 Battlefield, Command & Conquer 3, Need for Speed Carbon as well as Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. In August 2007 Madden 08 und Tiger Woods 08, will be released at the same time for Mac and for Windows platforms, according to EA.

Does anybody have Deus ex and/or Deus Ex IW running? Im trying to but DX gives me an assertion failed box. And DX:IW just quits after the mouse pointer is gone. Like it not starting up. Both are installs that work fine in either crossover (DX install) or paralles ( DXIW, works but super slow)

Anybody more info on this?
Cacicia
I can't get NFSC running using HOMMY's app... that app is still asking me for the HOMM's SN, any idea? smile.gif
G-Force
Battlefield 2142 Demo works without graphics corruption, but it has a slow framerate on my iMac. I can also play online. Bit weird that BF 2142 actually works and BF2 doesn't (well, that's my experience).

download from the mainpage the latest cider files

yeah, that sucks
they stold my ideea and now they say they are the hottest...
sucks
Cacicia
I'm using the latest Cider but anyway, I found the problem: I had to crack HOMMV before hacking the original package smile.gif

PS: trying to run PES6 (just hacking hte info.plist file) return me this error "Pro Evolution Soccer 6 - This game is not properly installed"; there is something I can try to get this running? smile.gif
cyclonefr
Try to add the registry info into the reg files since installing this game adds registry entries.

While your idea to use the Cider wrapper from HOMMV was pretty cool, it's not like EA really stole your idea.
Cider in itself is a product by Transgaming so that gaming publishers could use Cider to create Mac versions of any game they wanted.

Hey.... I also have something that might be of interest..... a whole phpbb board dedicated to this.... http://www.setbb.com/ciderboard/

asap18.... you making me curious...
Suzuka
is it cedega ported for OS X?
Cyman
I tried to make Diablo Hellfire run with Cider- basically I tried it with two different versions, the X3 and the HOMMV version. Maybe I didn't make it right or it just doesn't work (I don't know if it works at all with old games like this one). Could anyone else test it, please? If it's successful I would like to have a step by step How-To, too.

i'm trying to get gta:sa to work.. and graphically it works just fine, but i still got the problem of the mouse centering itself all the time, making the game unplayable.. so i searched for it for a while, and found the bug on the winex pages, with a bugfix..

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1410

apparently i have to make nomousecenter true in the registry somehow, but i'm wondering if the same fix is built in cider and how i get it to work.. i tried adding "NoMouseCenter" = "Y" to the config file in different places, but so far i couldn't get it to work.. anybody here know something i don't?
Bodi79
@algurgazan

How did you get GTA:SA working it always crashes after the GTA:SA Entry Screen some on Vice City and Midnight Club II..

Could you post your config??

Thanx

Hi

I've messed around a little with GTA: SA and got it to work graphically just fine (albeit a bit on a sluggish side). Now we just need somebody to fix mouse centering issue. I attach config file for gta:sa for those who want to try their luck and mess aroundClick to view attachment

I doubt the mouse problem is in the GTA config file, since the same thing is happening in oblivion

but someone said that oblivion worked fine for them, except for some bug after exiting the sewers, 'twas stated earlier in this topic huh.gif

First of all, thanks for a great find! smile.gif

I made an attempt at trying to run a game that I've always wanted to play on the Mac, but haven't been able to (until now).

The only problem I have is that the graphics are somewhat messed up (see screenshots below).

This is what it looks like:

And this is how it's supposed to look:

Do any of you have any tips on how I can better configure Cider to get it more like the real thing?

Thanks in advance, appreciate it a lot!

I try have a link to my windows drive(Volumes/HP_XP/Program Files/......) and don't actually copy the game into the dir and that works perfectly for Need for speed Most Wanted
But can anyone tell me where is the save game located in?

Thanks a lot
kalle_19
d3d9_24 to cider system32 dir or d3d9_32 to cider system32 dir, or both?
gubbel
from d3d9_24 to d3d9_32 must in the cider system32 but in the downloadable packages in the first post, you dont must copie the files.
Cyman
I don't know if I am just doing something wrong or if the games I test just don't work. I have tried it with Colin McRae DiRT yesterday but have had no success, just like with Hellfire.

hi guys,

i have a 13' MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. I installed NFS Carbon according to the instructions (version 1.2) and it runs fine until after the videos, but once I enter the main menu, it's EXTREMELY slow! The mouce moves an inch only every couple of seconds, and the res is set only to 640x480. The menu works, but I didn't have the patience to start loading a race. Any idea why this is happening? Maybe my mac is too slow for the game? Or Direct X problems... dll's..?
G-Force
The GMA950 chip in the MacBook is to slow I think.

i read all this posts but problem Mouse in GTA san andreas is not solved sad.gif
