I've got an old PM G4 Sawtooth upgraded to 1.2Mhz, with just over 1GB of RAM and a Radeon 9000 video card. I'm running 10.3.9. Will I run into any speed degradation with 10.4? Is it worth it to upgrade or should I stick with 10.3.9?

Thanks.

@Declan Chase: Your computer is pretty OK for Tiger. I've had 1GB of RAM on a 1.33GHz iBook and it worked OK.

Even my antique (eMac) goes fine.

Thanks. I suppose I'll go current then smile.gif

I run into really sluggish behavior when switching between apps, especially when I have photoshop and/or indesign running. I assume that's normal since Adobe apps are always memory hogs. Does anyone know if there is a way to speed this behavior up - or is there anything in 10.4 that corrects this?

I would say Tiger is fine, just on the grounds of your RAM.

As for the adobe apps.....
More RAM perhaps?

I'm guessing RAM is the solution. Geez, how much do these apps need? smile.gif Thanks.

1GB of RAM will be fine

Upgraded with no issues. Had to fix some settings, but otherwise everything worked out well. Classic is much faster and more stable. Thanks everyone.
