Hey Mac friends, I am new to mac as well as building computers from scratch. I am interested in taking my laptop tablet pc (HP Pavilion Tx100z) and installing OSX, hopefully interactive screen is compatable. I want to know if my notebook is compatable with OSX 10.4, and if it is I will install OSX so that I can get comfortable with the Operating System, then I want to build my own desktop from scratch. Here is what I originally had before I realized the compatibility was more complex than I thought:
(1)CASE: Antec Performance One P150 White Midsize tower: $115.75
Atx - 8 Bays - 430 w Power Supply
(2)Motherboard: Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi-Ap Motherboard: $201.99
(core 2 duo LGA 775, P965 express, 8Gb DDr2 1066 Mhz FSB)
(3)CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual Core Processor: $224.90
2.4Ghz, 4MB 1066Mhz FSB, LGA 775
(4)Cooling Fan/Heatsink: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU heatsink: $28.92
(5)Hard Drive: WD Caviar SE16 500GB Harddrive: $116.90
Serial ATA - 300, 7200 rpm, 16MB
(6)Optical: Lite-On LH-20A1H Dual Layer DVD+-RW Writer: $43.41
16x/8x/20x DVD + RW and -RW
(7)Graphics Card: eVGA Geforce 7900 GS video card: $150.98 (minus $20 rebate makes $130.98)
256 MB, PCI Express x 16, Dual DVI
(8)And then the sound Card I have not yet figured out, everyone I saw specifically said that it needs windows for
compatability, what specific card will I need?
(9)And then maybe a Samsung Sync Master 226BW black 22" LCD monitor for $319.50
All this is pricing I found at PriceGrabber.com from their relative vendors listed - just chose the lowest price.
Any info would be helpful, and if a item is compatable but another choice would be better, please enlighten me.
Thanks
Logan
