How can I change FINDER from continually defaulting to show things as icons? I want it to ALWAYS open stuff in a list or column view, and I can't seem to find a way to set this... is there a way to change Finder's default way of viewing?

You can go to Finder Menu --> Preferences and set "Always open new windows in a column view".

That's not the detailed list view, though. I'm not sure if there's a way to make it default to that instead.

Also I dont think NTFS volumes ever remember their settings, after retart theyll go back to unorganized icon view.
