I'm not sure I'm buying the right parts to make it all work. I really want to use all the software I bought my last computer a G3 can no longer use the Final Cut, After Effects, Blender, SoundTrack, and logic effectly (i put the new egg numbers just in case you want a better look at the specs)

I was going to buy the Quad Core but I heard there was a bottle neck on the bus speed? if you use some type of boards. I am still willing to buy the Quad Core if I have the type that doesnt have that problem otherwise I think I might wait a year.

I have fixed a few PC's, but I have never built one so please tell me if you see problems. Thanks for you help!

after thinking about it. I think I'm going to buy the duo for now then roll it over into something else later on

then get a new motherboard and quad core when the new one is launched because I want to buy this in 1 month flat

also i was thinking about this card as well since you werent sure that the other one had enough power?

The 8800 is not yet supported on OSX. A 7900 may be your most powerful alternative.

As you can see, the Quad is supported. It must be version 2, although version 1 *might* support Quads as well.

How about 256MB X1950XT, cheapish, quite powerful and supported with Jccool's method using a simple installer.
