So with the new codec dump, is the mute working? If so can you please share the codec dump.
THanks a lot. biggrin.gif

Unfortunately - not.
Only SPDIF out added (which is useless for me anyway).

Thanks, mate!
This is funny, but even we have identical laptops - they behave differently. smile.gif
I mean - with your kexts i GOT mute, but my right headphones channel disappeared.

With my old kexts - both channels are OK, but no mute.

And in both cases - internal speaker still audible, even when i plug headphones in. And line-in/mic-in still not working (always works internal mic).

This is, of course, not the thread, where to discuss sound problems but i really appreciate you for your help.

Somebody have this kext (BCM5787M) : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=903347 working but with hardcoded mac, this works fine but with some routers others not.

You're THE MAN!!!
An hour ago got my BCM5752 (pci14e4,1600) working like a charm: MAC's - OK, DHCP's - OK, 100M/1000M - OK!!!

For those, desperate Dell Latitude D620 owners, or who esle, by the chance, owns this card - attached 100% working kext.
NB! Place this kext to /System/Library/Extensions AND to the "/System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins" folder
Do not forget to DELETE existing kext, and "chown/chmod/repare perms" of course!

I'm so happy, 'coz at workplace we don't have WiFi, and at last i can use MY OWN laptop instead this terrible monster, i have here...
biggrin.gif

(sorry for my english)

Marvellous ! Now the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit BCM5752, of ven id 14e4 and dev id 1600, is fully supported in my HP Compaq dx7200.

Thanks for the attachment.

Thank you to all involved in getting the 5752 (0x1600) working!

Any progress with the 5754 (0x167a)?

I've got a Dell Precision 390 that uses that onboard NIC, and I'm happy to help with any testing/development if necessary... I just don't know where to begin starting from scratch.

Press F8 at start and put -v -s check the file system and mount it, repair permissions manually with chmod and chown remove kextcache and restart if it fails, you are not lucky remove the kext and you will be fine but without ETHERNET I'm sorry.

I'll do that this evening, but as a good noob it will take me time... wacko.gif
Thank you again smile.gif , i'll tell you if it's OK as soon as possible

It was impossible to reboot in any mode, so i repaired permissions with the instal dvd disk utility but it didn't make it work to reboot... I wonder if the problem can come from conflict with another broadcom patch i did install (BCM 43xx) to run airport

I have a Dell d610 that I have for the most part working . My wireless will work but only if my router is un-secured.

I need a Broadcom NetLink BCM57XX Gigabit Ethernet PCIe [14e4 : 1677]

Does anyone know of a working one ?

I tried the driver by Eternal Empty and is crashed my system.

Thanks in Advance.

First, I feel sorry about my kext crashed your system.

for 1677, before you use it, you perhaps want to modify the info.split array lines first, it is possible to to make it work by just few small changes or you may event don't need to do any changes ...

but you need to add your 1677 into the array list first. by using pure TEXTEDITOR only.

crash is very likely that the system has found the hardware by the ID is not existed for the system to register, that is why ..

anyway ..good luck, if I have 1677 with me now .I will do one for you to test, sadly ..I don't have one with me .

Hardcoding the MacAddress require the rewrite of the GetHardwareAddress function, the other kext for 5787m unluckly don't work on my pc, so i can't try, but here is my mod:

0002E90E: 55 89 E5 8B│55 08 8B 4D│0C B8 BA 00│00 00 90 90

if someone want to try,he has just to open the kext with an hexeditor then replace the bytes at the 2e90e hex
with these, values in bold are the macaddress

this is the asm code, if someone want to see how it works

Thanks for the update. I hope I did not offend you, It was not your fault, just the driver from your update caused my system to crash ( not boot up). I just re-installed the os and I am fine again. I did happen to have an old driver that I did not think would work and I installed it and it did. so I know have a 100% working OSX Dell D610. I will post my kext files in a new Posting along with the steps I took to get the video, cdrom, wireless, lan working.

Don't need to.
Just install attached package. And then, go to Terminal and enter "lspci -nn" w/o quotes.

You'll see something like this:
.......
9:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5752 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express [14e4:1600] (rev 02)
.......

In my case – all we need is [14e4:1600]
quinielascom
Itīs not necessary, only boot your machine with linux live cd (Knoppix, pclinux, slax ...) and run the next command in a terminal window: lspci or better idea install pci utils for mac os x.

Yeah I wish I knew sleep.gif

Here is my vendor / Device ID taken from Linux;

CODE
09:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express [14e4:1673] (rev 02)

I've tried editting the BCM5701 and BCM5751 kexts but the best I get is a warning at startup saying the driver couldn't load correctly. I'm no pro so I could be missing something, but I don't think so. Here is basically what I do;

-Edit the Info.plist to include my Vendor / Device ID
-Copy in the edited kext, authenticate, replace
-(sometimes I delete the other BCM kexts just to be sure)
-Edit IONetworkingfamily.kext (or just add the edited BCM Kext to the package)
-Open disk util and repair permissions
-Reboot

This hasn't worked for me. Is there any D630 user out there with BCM5755M LAN that DOES work? That would quickly settle the matter.

I'll try to make a kext for this chip (by patching my own).
А.Д.
So, here it is: 0x14e4:0x1673

How to install:
- remove all occurrences of AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext from both /System/Library/Extensions and /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins
- extract attached .zip anywhere (let's say - to the Desktop) and make sure this is the only file, starting with the "AppleB"
- in terminal:
sudo -s
<root password>
cp -r -v ~Desktop/AppleB* /S*/L*/E*/IONet*/C*/Plug*/
rm -v /S*/L*/E*.mke*
diskutil repairpermissions /
reboot

Then boot with the "-v" switch and post here all occurrencies with the "AppleBCM5751Ethernet"

Update: this is only a HACK. No warranties then.
And DON'T FORGET TO BACK UP EVERYTHING YOU MODIFY!!!

I tried it.
I see the network card with correct MAC Address in system preferences, but not working (i tried DHCP and Manual IP).
MenuMeter show this card only 10Mbit speed.

What can i do?

You did all steps described above?
Try to boot with -f switch

Early here in the tread there was a zip file attached for BCM5701. This is how I got it working for BCM5750.

Instead of swapping the whole Kext, I opened the original Kext that was in the extension folder and just repacled the 2 files inside the Macos dir of the original kext that came with Kalyways 10.5.2 with those 2 from that zip..

One rebbot and it worked smile.gif

blah ...

copy my modyfied extension into the /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins

Change/Add device into the Info.plist ( still needed, if this not help you must patch with hexeditor my kext )

then run

sudo -s
cd /
cd /System/Library/Extensions/
ln -s IONetworkingFamily.kext com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily.kext

rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache
rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions
kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

and reboot.

Patching with Hexeditor :

-Expample, device id 169c ( bcm 5788 )
-patch on hex 37336 from "66 81 FA 59 16" to "66 81 FA 9C 16".

Thats all. I will patch the 10.4.4 drivers too, but currently try to run the 10.4.3

Just an other host :

to be sure

hope itīs ok !

I've managed to install the necessary drivers for my network card (Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet dev_1677). I've used the attached file provided by Nisa-it (many thanks) and the following terminal commands:

sudo -s
chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/
cd /System/Library/Extensions/
chmod -R 755 AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext
reboot

But now i have another problem... I am also using a router (a Gembird router i don't know the model name) and when i open safari it says that i don't have internet access. Under Network preferences I've entered the IP address, the subnet mask, and the router ip (note - i didn't enter anything for DNS server, because i didn't know what to enter). And in the network preferences it says connected for Ethernet... But i don't have internet access.. I can access my router through safari using my router ip address but i don't have internet access which i mostly need. So can you help me solve this problem??? I've also learned that i don't need to set up my MAC address because i am using a router (now it is set to all zeros 00:00:00:00 etc...). So, PLEASE HELP ME I REALLY NEED INTERNET ACCESS. THANKS!

You need to find out the IP for your DNS in order for your package to find the way out ..

I think you are very close solve your problem,

if you are able to get into your router's setting pages . you will be able to find your DNS information, or just give your ISP a call to find it out .. and also, normally ..ISP will have FAQ page will list their default DNS too ..

try that

have fun

I've got a BCM5784M (VEN_14E4 DEV_1698) LAN. Anyone got that working yet? If I edited the ID of the BCM5784M kext into that linked 5785M kext, would it work?

Just throwing some questions out here. Can anyone help?
