I'm gonna be an asshole here, but the original looks far far far better then your edit in terms of flarrtering the subject and looking professional.
Your lens flare should have been put on a seperate layer (Yes I know you were using photoshop) and masked a bit. To make it appear as if it was behind the subject, as, right now it just looks like he has a really bright light in his hair.
I personally would have left this out. What you did with the colours and levels is a terrible job to be honest, the eyes now look glazed over. You face has a very unnatural hue.
I would have left it natural, or Sepia toned it with a Antique look.Commends on your touching up of pimples etc. That was done fairly well, though there is a few parts were it is noticable, but thats understandable because of the photos small-ness.
Take note, some clients and people you photograph will take offense to this, though, others will not, it's important to know how far to go with it.Your Vignette is very obstrusive and confining in my opinion, I don't know if this is due to the original background of not.
Circle Vignettes are not always best.Your model is posed fairly well, however the earlobe on his left is showing and nearly looks like a boil, also he wears a fairly non professional smirk.
I'd have removed the distracting earlobe. Here's a sample of what (in my opinion) looks a bit better. This was done under the assumption that the photo is of you (t3mur) and that you wanted pimples/blemishes minimized.

Again, sorry for being an ass, I'm tired and you welcomed all comments. :-)
