keep in mind i'm on a budget. no more than $1300 can be spent on this rig

Case: Thermaltake Aguila Aluminum = $118.99

Watercooling System: Thermaltake Big Water 735 = $111.99

Zalman Northbridge Cooler = $9.95

Mobo: EVGA nVidia Sli 680i = $174.99

Intel Core 2 Duo: Conroe E6300 = $181.00

Corsair, XMS2 2x1GB RAM = $199.00

EVGA nVidia 7-series 512mb GFX Card = $112.99

Seasonic M12 600W Power Supply = $149.99

Samsung DVD burner = $38.99

Sony Floppy Drive = $13.49

most of these things have free shipping and are not taxed.. all said, these things add up to $1183.98, but there are $150 or so worth of mail in rebates, so i'm within budget enough that i may get an E6400 instead of the 6300

hardware guru's, what do you think of my selections in general? also, how hard would it be to put OSX86 on as well?

You should wait till End of April, iirc Intel will be slashing prices allowing you to get a much more powerful cpu for about the same price as the e6300.

yes, i hadn't planned on doing this before mid-may anyway, but thanks for the info. hopefully some of the other parts come down in price also

heard that the 680i chipsets are not compatible with osx right now...but i could be wrong

and you will need to hack the video card so that it works as well
