Yep, as long as you have supported FireWire, it should work.

I have the similar problems of iSight like you. I think it's due to different Firewire hardware/driver. Because it could work for my other desktop PCs with nForce chips or Ich8 chip, but always fails in three laptops I own (Asus A6Jc, Asus F8Sa, and MSI PR600). Hope someone can help us ASAP.

Same here, though it does appear connected as an iSight in System Profiler. If it's plugged in, I get the rotating beachball if I open iChat and Delicious Library and PhotoBooth don't see any webcam plugged in sad.gif The video works in Vista, so it's probably not a hardware problem.
macgirl
works here, on any of my hacks.
amantheboy
maybe you dont have the iSight.kext installed

here is the kext

my iSight shows up in the profiler, displays video in iChat, photobooth etc. but does not capture audio. audio level bar shows a level when the input (iSight) is first selected in System Prefs/Sound, but then freezes after half a second. no audio can be captured from the device and recording video or audio within Quicktime or photobooth causes an error.

tested on a "real" mac and it works fine so i think it must be my firewire card - however, standard DV cam works with this FW card on my hackintosh. it's a VT6306 - what chipsets are you using?

I love your sig!
I hear ONLY Chuck Norris can get MacOSX to run on a Pentium 4HT?

i have the same issue.. in system preferences/sounds i have no audio input from my isight. and in ichat i can see a video preview fine, but i dont see any audio on the guage. also if i open quicktime and make a new video recording it shows me basically a snapshot pic and if i click record it doesnt show anything being updated in the preview and when i click stop it says error no data recieved or something like that..

my mobo is asus formula maximus and my osx install is leopard 10.5.3 and is working 100%

Looks like it's a firewire chipset issue. My ASUS P5E is having the same problem. Will try to get a NEC chipset firewire card to see whether it can help.
