We've all played the "What would you do with $1000000" game at some point.. With the recent sale of Insanelymac, a more down-to-earth variation springs to mind. Swad has stated that he will be giving some of the money away, though how much & to whom is a closely-guarded secret..
So, Imagine yourself in his shoes, and lets hear:
What would *you* do with the $75,000,-?

Hm... I'd probably use it to fund the doctoral program I'd just been accepted into. As the person who just got $75,000 is doing. Eh?

Hmm, I think I'd go put it into a mix of low to medium risk mutual funds, and whoa ho, retirement is set, baby.

Its almost enough need $80 000 to go to America to study at the DAVE School Universal Studios Orlando Florida, the course requirements is $ 41 500. Have been excepted just have difficulty securing so much money, our currency makes it worse trades at 7.45 to the $ so it costs 7.45x more. Its more expensive due to the fact that I need to pay bills back home when I am there. You have to look after your family you know.

$75,000 would be enough for an indie feature flick

All for the pursuits of art...

I'd buy a MacBook Pro. I've always wanted one, but I don't have enough money to buy one.

After that, I'd put it straight into the bank. Pretty boring I guess...

I'd sell one of my properties, add the 75,000 and buy the property of my dreams.
But I'd try to have money left for a Mac Pro and a new car, as mine is getting old.

I would take the $80,000, and invest in something like Money Market.
Then I would take roughly 40% and invest it into a property. I'd save the rest to grow in interest, and to always have for a rainy day.

I'd probably put 20% into an IRA, maybe 5-10% into a high-risk mutual fund and hope that pays off, then put the rest into a high yield savings account. I'd only dip into it perhaps to buy a pretty nice Mac Pro (Not an overly expensive one, mind you, just a nice one) and then only for emergencies. $75,000 is a lot of money to recieve at once, but not if you just spend it all away.

As appealing as blowing all that cabbage on drugs sounds...., I'll probably buy a nice car, like a mini or something hot, a badass mac pro (think the top of the line maxed out 17,000 dollar one) and macbook pro (same thing, maxed out), and save the rest as college spending money so I wont be stuck eating ramen for 4 years straight.

Exactly. I inherited a similar amount of money a few years ago. I spent everything in 6 months. I was only left with a second hand car.

It is very bad, my friends. Young people start their lives with as many debts as if they had bought a house. And God knows when they'll be able to actually buy one.

I would buy as many foreclosed houses I could afford in california(where i live). I would then rent them out and get monthly income

, o wait thats what i do currently
I love how everyone says "ill invest it in the stock market" Have you ever heard of options? You can get into the stock market with 100 dollars and make tons with the right decisions.
There is no point in waiting till you have 75 grand to get into the stock market..
75 grand wouldn't mean a thing to me except a new car or a month vacation. Rule in life: if you had it once you can have it again

I'd donate $50 monthly for a year to InsanelyMac. After that, I'd put $70,000 in my bank account, and finally I'd spend the rest buying high-end components for a new PC.

Start a fun small business. Banks are worthless, they lose money against inflation. Property is expensive and stocks are a serious gamble. And as for options... selling options on stock is a hedge against falling prices. Buying an option on stock is just throwing your money away (I.E. overwhelmingly risky).

Well, I think I would pay off all my family's debts (mortgages not included) because I hate how my Dad or my Auntie have so many loans and credit cards (there's just no teaching them).
Of course, I would pay for my univerity fees and get myself a Macbook Pro
Wait, this is in $....
That's only £37,291.17 - forget paying off the debts then!
