OK, first the good news, not sure where to post this, might try genious bar after as I need to know a few things....
Anywa, the Memory on the AMD64 was the OCZ Platinm CCD3 which they don't make anymore, its warrantied for life, the gigabyte K8NS is a 3 year I think (I have one more year) and the CPU is 3 years, still have one more year, either way, I'm still going to have to re-authourize many many instruments and plug ins.
Anyway, my HACK n Tosh is a stronger CPU, even though its not DUO CORE 2, its a D930 which I think is stronger than a AMD64 3200.
So here is the deal, I have in the AMD system, 4 PATA drives, on the HAC 2 Serial Drives.....plus of course two burners one of which is a dual layer....
So, the motherboard is a mini GTX D945GTP, it has two PCI slots, so, I could in theory add all 4 Hard drives as my audio device is FIREWIRE which works on both the hack and PC. but this would pretty much leave me no room for the burner, so I might need to get just another LARGE fast PATA drive and remove two of the drives......
It sounds like a lot of work but it will be worth it I think as it should be a faster windows machine anyway......plus the case I have will give the mini plenty of room to breathe and I have a 550 PSU.
So I am thinking of somehow having the 2nd HACKnTOSH drive REMAIN in the system at all times and use a removable SATA for the HACK and removable SATA for the WINDOWS drives, my questions, and this is where the genious part comes in, and advice neededs when I have some PCI cards in the windows setup and then boot to the HACK n TOSH, being NTFS, they should just look like they aren't there correct? My worry is that I don't want to destroy any PC songs, projects, etc......these are things I need to figure out while I wait for my RMA's.
Advice appreciated!
Thanks
EDIT
Oh and to make things interesting, I will be adding a nice GPU card for the windows machine as I have dual LCD's displays so I have a KVR switch so how would I use the DUAL Monitor when using windows, and then the on-board for OSX?
Is any of this even possible??
Thanks, just read the bench marks at toms hardware, the D930 (except for memory) is about 2X faster than the AMD...
