so i got 2.1 GHZ G5 20" and teh OS is in German language so i downloaded a 10.4.7 from JAS and i cant boot what is wrong ? anh help pls.

The JaS discs have been modified to boot on a BIOS system, e.g. a regular PC. It won't boot on your G5.

You'll need to obtain an Apple-made, unpatched OS X install disc. Make sure it's a PowerPC version of the OS. The newest version you can buy or otherwise obtain is 10.4.6; then you can update it to 10.4.9.

Yes, you do need an actual Apple Mac OS X PPC Installation disk.
Sure, all of the retail ones are PPC-only, but there are some Mac OS X Intel Installation disks floating around on various torrent sites that work on all Intel Macs.

Either buy one or grab one from Demonoid, TPB or Oink.
Just avoid the Hackintosh variety. Those are Intel.

i downloaded a Mac OS X 10.4.6 Retail DVD (PowerPC) 2.55 and there is a one file DMG i burnet this file from my MAC via Toast but when i try to boot from this DVD and to install a new OS mac wont boot from that DVD how to chek is this DVD bootable???

Um....try burning with disk utility then boot the computer while holding the "C" button on your keyboard.
Also, make sure that the disk is for PowerPC and not for Intel only.

ok so to burn DMG with Disk utilty form IMAC its asks for password which i dont know the right one so what now???
