I first noticed this this evening and have been able to replicate this problem a dozen times since.
For some reason, when my Mac wakes up from sleeping, syslogd will occasionally chew my entire CPU (99% until I force quit syslogd through activity monitor).
I *think* this may have something to do with Firefox - I have only been able to get this to replicate when I've had Firefox (or Bon Echo, too) open - and it seems more likely to happen if I have a lot of tabs open.
I can't be entirely sure it's due to Firefox - but like I said, I've only been able to replicate the problem when I have firefox open.
Having said all that, I disabled all my addons and I was still able to get it to happen.
Strangely, it doesn't happen all the time.
I have no idea here - any suggestions??

Bump - and update: It doesn't even require that I recently wake up from sleep -- When I hear my fans start kicking in, I open up activity monitor and see syslogd taking 70, 80, 90 % of my CPU.

Since dumping BonEcho, I haven't had this problem. Who knows.... I can't work without all the extensions I use - so Firefox will have to do...
