Full Version: How to connect to a WEP Secured network ?

hi , I'm trying to connect to my wireless network from mac 10.4.9 , and every time i enter the password it doesn't connect , it says that the password is wrong !! although i can connect from windows without any problems , the network security is WEP 64-bit ..
what can i do to solve this problem ?
my access point is Thomson SpeedTouch180 .

Are you entering your password in ASCII or Hex might have to look in Windows and convert the Pass to Hex or vise-versa to Enter in OS X.. Pretty sure I Have had to do this at some point in the Past on someone's Network.

thanks for the reply , i used ASCII in the access point ...
so you're telling me to convert the ASCII password to Hex and use it on my mac ?

Can you not Change the Security to WPA or WPA2.? if not, Should be somthing in the Windows Wireless Network Config, instructs you what to Do. sorry I cant be more specific but I hardly use Windows any more.. and for the life of me cant remember... Google the exact Question you want Answered and it will bring up something i'm sure.
