anyone have any idea how Vista is supposed to work with Pro Apps...positive or negative hype?

Since when are Apple pro apps out for Vista? If you're referring to third party Pro apps, probably the same. Third party apps get very little in performance increase from version to version with Windows. The devs gotta do that.

Check the Adobe PPro forums - read all the lamenting about Vista breaking PPro 1.5 and barely runs PPro 2.0. I'm sure that this will apply to Adobe's other apps as well.

I would not rely on Vista as a primary OS until at least SP1 and once Adobe releases CS3 apps. Me personally - Once I get the RAID card situation sorted out - I'm dumping Windows all together and will use hackintosh to make enough $$$ to get a legit mac of some kind.
