I've got the above mentioned Audio Device. In Device Manager, it's called "Realtek AC'97 Audio" Ven: 10B9, Dev: 5455.
It's onboard an Abit UL8, the website refers to it as ALC658

I cannot seem to get this to work, although I admit I'm a bit confused as to .kext's and such. I have 10.4.8 JaS AMD SSE3, and I believe I have properly installed AppleAzaliaAudio.kext, and modified the Info.plist in it, and in AppleAzaliaController.kext's Info.plist with the vendor & device ID's. Still nothing.

Grrrr...

Any clues? Anyone?

I have the same chipset. No driver available for it. You may try AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext. Didn't work for me, but it may work for you. On Linux drivers Intel8x0 and M5455 use the same driver. But there are some important diferences.
