I'm betting that if you are running an AMD and installed Jas 10.4.8, you may have no luck getting it running. when you boot your computer - hit any key at the OSX boot prompt and enter "-v -f" and watch to see if you get a message to the effect of "com.apple.driver.xxxxx isn't a valid mach-o"

I have been battling this issue for over a week now. No amount of installing 3 different PCI based NIC cards resolves the issue - I'm at a loss as to what to try - even tried installing the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.4.4 and 10.4.6 - no luck so far...

Old thread, but since I just got aFA311 working on JaS 10.4.8, I thought I'd share my experience. I installed the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.4.3 - you can find it on the useful files thread that's stickied somewhere in the genius bar. Anyhow - the old 10.4.3 kext works for the Netgear FA311.

Hello! I'm having a similar problem. I have a FA311 NIC in my box, and OSX 10.4.8 isn't recognizing it. Could you link me to the thread with the 10.4.3 .kext? I can't seem to find what you are referring to.

Thanks! And sorry for the trouble!

bump - looking for that kext too...can someone help us with the link?

thanks!
