Every time i check new posts i get "no new posts" message... but in forum index its visible that there are new posts since last visit... you can see it by the color of icons infront... This is for two days now, and checked with safari, opera and firefox...
This is a nice feature and i really like to have it working...
antic
I am having the same problem. Click on the "Home" tab. Click on "new posts". This should give you the most recent posts.

How long has it done this?
I don't often use this feature wink.gif

I still see new posts and I'm not sure that any settings have changed since 2007.

Maybe its the Y2k7 bug tongue.gif

Ok so i followed antic suggestion to first click "home" and then "view new posts" and it works...
but if i just click on my bookmark direct to forum and then "view new posts" i get "no new posts"

Im sure this worked ok a few days back...

I think it must have started around the time the new site was going up (yesterday?). I use everytime I visit the site, it's an easy way to see what has been posted since my last visit.

I think I might have found a solution. Try resetting your browser (get rid of the cookies/cache). I did it with Safari and it seems to be working fine for me now.

edit: nevermind, it's back again for me sad.gif
errandwolfe
I tried "Home" then "View New Posts" and that didn't work either. Really hope the admins can get this working othewise it is very hard to find new posts.
user2
Same trouble here! In addition, it keeps logging me out on both my home and office computer.

Hi,

I have had this problem on and off for more than just the new year.

A onetime help was deleting the coockie and logging on again. As far as I can tell the problem occurs on both my hackintoshes (Intel and AMD) and on Windows IE 6/7.
It seems though that sometimes, after doing something on the forum (browsing to some post), the "view new posts" function does work.

I sure hope it gets solved, as reading through all new posts is my normal browsing behaviour for this forum.

Best wishes,
Cat_7

Same problem, since begining of year (or since those weird asp or php lines appeared at top some day--disappeared now).

Formerly, the new posts kept 'unread' as long as I didn't click the "Mark all forums as read".

It was really an helpfull function; hoping it will come back.
kevin_4e
I've defiantely had problems with this in the past. Sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't.

Same.

I kinda have a quick solution for this. When you click on the "View New Posts" you get something like this on the address field:

CODE
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?-I cut this part to shorten-topics&result_type=topics&lastdate=0

Replace the zero with 1 at the end to read

CODE
topics&lastdate=1

Hit enter.

Then click on the Go button near the "Get active topics for: Today". There you go.

Same problem, past 3 days

Now this code isn't working http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...amp;CODE=getnew

Grrrrrrr.
Swad
Hmm... I haven't personally been able to reproduce this, but we're working on it! Thanks for the heads up!

Clicking on the View New Posts is still working for me, but for the past few days, about half the time the new posts list does not have the little orange square icon in front of each post that takes you directly to the first posts in the thread. The lines are padded out with space for the icon, but there is none showing and the spot is not clickable. Then, the next time I try it a few hours later, the icon is back. It comes and goes.

It's broken for me too, sadly.

Luisef
Definetly the same here, and also (not every time) my assistant does not show up, only can see the toolbar though....

It's definately getting worse. We're working on the forum software for a solution. Sorry guys, it's annoying us as much as it's annoying you thumbsdown_anim.gif
McSkywalker
Maybe we all should start bugging IPB. It's mean but it always works. smile.gif

IPS actually tongue.gif
I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is, currently awaiting for some action from a staff member smile.gif
McSkywalker
lol, I checked their site a few weeks ago, but I wasn't thinking about the actual name smile.gif

Can you post here the e-mail of that member? Just to make sure he'll act quicker next time dev.gif (j/k)

View New Post still dont work
Any progress?
user2
Can we get this fixed?
CoolBits
View New Posts is a "search" function and i think it stopped working shortly after this
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=35589

There must be a way to reverse something to get it back to work... or do we lose some other functions? wink.gif
oldschool
This really suxx.
The forum is so big since the last months impossible to follow all interesting threads WITHOUT this function...

PLEEEAAAASE fix it as soon as!

Rgds.
other
As I've said, we're waiting for something before it gets fixed.
It has nothing to do with the upgrade.
wow
I have a problem simulair to that. When i click on that oranje button before a topic and there were posted 20 messages after the last time i looked.
It never begins from the last visited/read messgae. So instead of reading all the new posted messages (20) i only see the last 10. What i do now is scroll back every time i open a topic to seeor i read everything.

I hope you find a sollution soon, i dont know how long it like this. It has worked a few month back, i dont know when it started.

Good luck with finding it :-)
guiyoforward
is there any chance to add a quick fix, like "see today's posts" or see the last two day's posts?
McSkywalker
Try this for the active topics of the day:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...cs&lastdate

If it works for you, then simply bookmark it.
consolation
It's been broken for me since NY. But, while none of the browsers have it working in os X, if I use f'fox in parallels it works fine. weird.....
guiyoforward
thanks mc that seems to do it!
asapreta
The problem still persists here.
guiyoforward
oops. worked once, never again...
asapreta
Itīs strange that for some (because I can't see others complaining) the forum must be working perfectly.
But since '07 it never worked to me.
user2
Maybe time to "downgrade" the forums back to when they worked
