After installing the AMD Test 1 DVD, I used the 10.4.5 i08211family.kext to get Airport to recognize this card. Now the Airport icon shows up after reboot, but it says Not Configured and it does not show up in network under system configuration. I tried the en0 to en1 trick, but as soon as I reboot, the file goes back to en0. I don't have built in ethernet working so there is not a en0 device to trade with the wireless. Also, if I look in About this Mac, the card is listed under Airport but under PCI it says this system does not appear to have any PCI card.

Thanks for you help

Try this:

Go to the directory: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Drag copies of the following files to the Desktop and then drag the originals to the Trash:
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
NetworkInterfaces.plist
preferences.plist
Reboot

Now go to System Preferences -> Network -> Show (popup) -> Network Port Configurations and click the check boxes of the devices you want (hopefully Airport).

Then in the Show (popup), select Airport and configure it. Then go to the Airport icon in the menu bar and select your network.

You may still need to do the en0 -> en1 trick, but there is a 2nd part to it. Below the en0 entry, find the <integer>0</integer> and change it to 1.

If things get all messed up, drag the copies of the files back to the directory and repair permissions before rebooting.

SWEET!!! It works perfectly now (after the files move, en0 trick, reboot, preferences, and another reboot) and with WPA encryption.

Thank you so much for your help!
