Anyone help me with a Color Classic upgrade.

Have a CC that boots 7.6.1

Put enabler se065041 in the Systems folder .

Installed a LC 575 board and get a system bus error. Hold shift key and restart , the restart gives the same error.

The first question is does the VGA 640x480 hack, have to be done first to get past this.

Before putting in enabler and just installing the 575 logic board I got an enabler error.



Parts still needed
some video ram and a 40mhz FPU CPU and a 72pin ram chip

Just figured i would let you know AmigaKit has 33 and 40hmz 68882 FPU's for sale, the 33mhz parts seem to run fine at 40mhz ( i have had 3 and all have been fine at 40mhz, one even ran at 50mhz for 8 years) they also have a few other bits and pieces that may be of use in an old mac.

Need a 68040/30 Cpu with FPU.

Cpu speed is dictated by the Clock crystal on the Board.


Got the 575 logic board booting with the resedit Gestalt ID mod. Add a new CPU and 2- 512k video ram chips and mod the back panel from the 575 box and that's almost it.

Found a full 68040 (40mhz inc MMU+FPU) at softwarehut in the US, its intended for an Amiga but they are the same CPU, its not cheap though $119.95.
