No dice on 10.5.1 for the Sigmatel 9271 on the Intel DG33TL board. If anybody can find it useful, I've included the linux codec dump. This mess is giving me incentive to learn how to write an audio driver :/ Using the provided kexts from the first post results in an output device but no sound.
Pity, since this was an awesome combo deal. I'm really not too happy about the state of Apple Audio Hardware support (or lack thereof). Then again, with processors these days, you probably don't need dedicated hardware processing for home PC use. I'm currently using the USB dongle that came with my voip headset as a pass-through to my speakers so I can get sound.

@bigdaddyrob2g
yeah I had to use the Natit.kext to get my ATI HD 2600 XT to work,
before that I was getting mosaic-like display!
I read your post about using only sound in EFI...
and tried to copy the com.apple.Boot.plist into LaunchDaemosn(?) and delete the ACLinject.kext then reboot..
nothing happens!
thanks

Hello All,
I have a Vostro 1400 (which I read is supposed to work flawlessly with it's audio). However, I'm having a lot of trouble - I can't seem to get any audio output at all. I've tried using the AppleHDA patcher (v1.16 and v.1.20) and simply dragging Sigmatel 9228 core dumps to the application. It says that SPDIF In/Out are not detected, then proceeeds to patch, and fails to work. I've made sure AppleAzalia is removed. I've also tried adding the kext on the first post by hand, using the 'kextload' command, to no avail. I can always see the sound bar, and can change the volume, but I can never actually hear anything. Someone please help!!!

STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio (not working)
Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (not working)

I would appreciate any help anyone can give.
Has anyone been able to run Boot Camp and the Iphone SDK???

Taruga,
I have a Vostro 1400, but when I try to install "STAC9228_0x083847616", which you said worked for someone who also has a 1400, I can change the volume, but hear no sound. Do you have any tips on what I should do? In particular, what exactly am I supposed to do to install the kexts? Thanks in advance, you've been doing excellent work.

You can use
kexthelper to easy install kexts
Post your ioreg dump to take a look: ioreg -lw0 > /ioregdump.txt
It will create a file named ioregdump.txt

AppleHDAPatcher 1.2 Worked on my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L .. Good job! Didn't even need a reboot! I just heard the whitenoise come in my headphones after about 3 seconds, and was able to play anything just fine.
I used a seemingly random ACL888 dump from the list of Linux codec dumps (link given in first post). Simply used alc888.txt, not the a, b, or d.. Not sure if the others would work or not. But thanks alot! I can't believe how active this particular thread is.
Again, thanks a lot.

I have an intel DQ965GF mobo and have been unable to get my on board sound working. I installed using Kalyway's 10.5.1 and his 10.5.2 update. I was looking around and found a patched AppleHDA.kext and replaced it but my sound still does not work. I'm not sure if I did it properly though. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to which patch I need to use and how to do it? I'm still a noob at this so a lot of this is new to me. Thanks for your help.

Cant Shutdown after HDAPatcher!!!
Dont know if this is a known issue, but I have formated and retried 20x+ and always the same thing. Narrowed it down to the reboot after the Audio install. Want to note that I am setup using MBR loader, not the GUI.
Using HDAPatcher 1.20 and latest Sigmatel 9220,
on 10.5.1 or 10.5.2 or 10.5.2 + 9.2 Kernel.
Shut down and restart works fine before I apply audio. After, if i try to shutdown, the notebook just goes black, display turns off, but the power LED's stay lit and I can still hear the CPU fan running. Have to hold power button to actually turn it off.
Any solutions

I have a Hackintosh that has everything working but the sound on it.
Now back in the 10.4 days this patcher worked for me with my Sigmatel 9227, but it seems now in 10.5.2 it doesn't work.
Also I do have a Radeon HD3850 so I've heard that could be interfering with the sound.
Is there a simple way to make this work reliably that won't screw up my system since it's just about perfect?

Hey buddy,
I found an interesting issue with your latest patcher for alc268.
It works great, but if you apply the gmax3100 kext specially the AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext the sound stops working.
These kexts when removed give fully functional sound.
Also when returning from sleep sound is lost.
I have verified that there is sound when the laptop is turning (judging by the white noise made) however people with that kext (GMA) mentioned above must press Power button then S button for their screen to function. SO if users use your patcher sound will function but if they want full graphics IE changable resolution they must use the GMA kexts and when they use that the sound will not function but video will.
I wonder if it i related to your patch or it is a problem with the GMA kexts, either way I will be more than happy to get into more detail with you.
Let me know HooKed

Will ALC262 ever be released? How hard is it to make???
I am thankful for all the work that has been done, but it seems that the forums are dead, and nothing is being released.

Take the codec and drag it onto the AppleHDAPacher Icon and type your password when it asks.

Hello.
For alc850 - search forum ;-)
For codec dump -
start OS from CD, start terminal:
cd /proc/asound/card0 in this directory find file with codec dump ( you can veiw files with vi -> vi filename, for exit -> :q<enter> )
when file founded - copy this file to flash or win disk.
that's all.

You didn't search effectively. The ADI problem is well known. We have to wait until AppleHDA Patcher 2.00 is released. Yet we only have stereo out and nothing else on ours AD1988/AD1988B's.

Guys, Iīll be moving
hereI need more than a forum to keep things organized so I can make a better work
Those of you that modified some of my files to improve them to help others and wanna help, you can contact me and Iīll create whatever I can so we can have at the same place as much audio info and organization that we need to support past/present and future sound hardware.
The audio in osx itīs a very complex issue, it can have several versions of setups even for the same codec model. I just want place to discuss, work and improve audio support with easy access to info, etc
Since itīs a new home, itīs lacking info. It will grow with the help and contributions of you all.
There is a forum, file repository, dumps repository, Problem reporting, etc and with your suggestions we can make this work much better.
So, what do you think ?
ps. I wish to thank Insanely Mac crew for all theyīve done.
