first of all, thanks Taruga for your work.

i have a Sony Vaio VGN-N330FH with everything working fine, only having problems with audio.

If i use Azalia i have speakers sound, but no headphones or mic.

if i use any of your extensions revisions, i can see in HALLAB working audio, also in control panel, but i hear nothing.

by using this version: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry440597
i have my mic working! but no audio yet coming out from speakers or headphones.

i have a ALC262 device , VendID 10EC devID 0262 susbsystem 104D1600

i know this is very close to be working, i hope with your work i finally manage to have audio on my laptop.

Taruga, what can i do? should i wait a little more for your research? is there anything else i can do?

thanks again

No luck here with a Gigabyte P35-DS3L with ALC888,

the patcher runs fine, finishes, but a reboot brings no sound devices.

Try the kext´s at post #1 for your codec... maybe you´ll have better results...
matemago
thanks for your quick response.

i just tried the kext, but still the same problem, should i post the ioreg log? or paste some screenshots? what can i do so you can help me.

thanks
matemago
i tried again the 3 versions for ALC262 and this is what i got:

test1: no speakers, no headphones, mic working
test2: no speakers, no headphones, mic working
test3: no speakers, no headphones, no mic

in test1 and test2 kexts, sound preferences show internal speakers for output and internal mic for input

in test3 kexts, it shows internal speakers and headphones for output , and internal mic and internal speakers for input

here is myioreg.txt

thanks again

Back to using the azalia driver for now. BTW, where is it that I can donate to these efforts?
matemago
please Obi Wan Taruga, you're my only hope! =)

Is that last ioreg of yours a few posts above the one after the mic working and not the rest ?

Send me pics of both sound inputs and outputs of that one you said you have mic working, also an ioreg -lw0 dump
I think for sony stuff maybe it´s easy to hack the bios tongue.gif What do that guys do to codec implementation ?!
matemago
ok Taruga, this is my ioregs and screens for ALC262test1 and ALC262test3 kexts.

test1 has mic working fine, since i tested it with voice recognition. but no output.

test2 does the same as test1, so i dont post images . if you need ioreg, let me know.

test3 recognizes speakers and headphones, but no sound for both, and no mic working. it shows two input sources i think this is wrong.

thanks again for your time

Again the same issue !!! censored2.gif Don´t use my stuff with mac os older than 4.8 !I´m tired of repeating myself, there´s a warning at post #1 where the stuff is regarding that. Now, you have to delete applehda.kext and alcinject.kext from your /System/Library/Extensions/Boot with -s or with a DVD to access the file system and delete those files

Hi Taruga!

I really appreciate a AD1998B HDA patcher. (sorry for posting this request several times)
I have Asus P5B-VM motherboard, the patcher v1.16 talks about some further work...

Hello Taruga, I have HP notebook with AD1981. I have sound card visible, but the mute led is still on and there is no sound - i think that this is a problem with hp notebooks (i tried 1.13 and newer patchers). Please help HP users, you are our last hope. This is my codec dump (HP NX7400,ey508es).

Thanks for the 1.13 tip Taruga smile.gif , got partial success; line out and optical out detect and working BUT, no volume control. Everything plays at maximum volume, although I can use the apps individual controls.
No mic or line in.

Attached my codec.

Cheers for all your work, much appreciated.

P.S. running 10.4.10 w/ 8.10.1 Darwin Kernel

I'm pasting my codec in as I can't do attachments atm, apparently I don't have permission huh.gif

Hi Taruga,

it's been a while that I have been messing with my iHack's sound card biggrin.gif , but might as well get into it again.

So I attached my codec dump from Linux (now, when dragged into your patcher: "unsupported Conexant Codec"). Maybe you feel like checking it out. Don't know if it is at all possible without overwriting the Toshiba-BIOS' faulty DSDT-table with an appropriate kext, but maybe you have a smarter approach than the Linux guys.

Cheers,
Bugs

PS: so you are still looking for an oink invite?

Not the best place to post some update I guess but have no idea where to put it.
In Arch Linux kernel .22 (or maybe even in "stock" .22 kernel) there's a patch used that is using _OSI value different than Linux (have no idea what had been used there, but will take a look when I'll get the sources). With this "hack", I don't have to use corrected DSDT to get my soundchip, nvidia, ethernet and wireless working at the same time.

Is there a place I could gain some knowledge about kernel and other stuff?

Cheers,
Mik

Answers...

1) Yes/Maybe
2) I'm confused with what codec you have ( I will post the .kext as soon I you confirm) - patcher version used was my own (v1.17), not released yet.

what exactly should i confirm? please tell me what info you need, beside the linux dump i already posted.

ciao

hi Taruga, did you had some time to check about ALC262 on Sony Vaio? i posted screenshoots and ioregs two days ago.

thanks

finaly my sigmatel 9227 mic works in ubuntu 7.04. only thing i needed to do is to turn on ADCMUX in gnome/alsamixer but there is no ADCMUX switch in OSX. any ideas? microphone LED is on so it is powered but the indicator won't show any input until ADCMUX is turned on. i've used patcher 1.16 on 10.4.10 and it looks like everything works except microphone

Taruga,
Question about the Linux dump.txt that i'm draging over to your patcher....
When i'm in Linux to make the dump from the terminal does the sound need to be working in Linux or is the dump the same if I have sound in Linux or not?
Depending on the Kernel that is loaded in Ubuntu my sound works or doesent work.

the first dump I made was from a livecd and the sound didn't work. Now I did a clean install and now have full working sound in Linux mic, headphones and builtin speakers... Gonna make a new dump and try your patcher agian.

Just was unclear about my above question.

Thanks for all you do!

9227 is working already, I sent some kext to vipersporthp and after 2 attempts, inputs are working. Mic and Line In.Changes will be on v1.17, but for now I´ll post the kext´s at post #1. (I can´t do it atm cause it´s not accepting attachments)

There´s no need for the sound to be working as long as it detects your codec

Thanks Taruga! Everything is working except i have low volume output.. It's the 882 reatlek..
I know i saw your answer to that problem somewhere in the 100 + pages here.. but i couldn't find it searching again.
I used the ALC882_0x1043e601 with your patcher.
I'll also try better speakers.. Maybe these are just crap.
My other speakers are plugged into my sound blaster card.
Took me 2 weeks to get video working.. Took me 20 minutes to get sound going with your patcher, instructions and files..

Hi Taruga

My motherboard is an Intel D945GTPLR with Sigmatel 9223. AppleHDAPatcher_v1.10 is the best patch for me cos it´s giving me sound output (Headphones), sound input (Internal microphone). I can't test Digital Out, but it turns on. If there is a better patch for this motherboard please let me know.

Thanks a lot.

Greetings from Mexico City. biggrin.gif

Sweet... I got my AD1986A sound to work on my Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. I used AppleHDAPatcher 1.13 and my own dump... The only thing is that I don't have volume control and I think there is a fix for this already I'll try to read around here a bit more but if anyone has a solution please let me know.

For those interested this is my dump:

Thanks to vipersporthp for his fast testing, after 2 attempts inputs are working for stac9227 0x83847618, both mic and line in.
I thought they were working but vipersporthp said it wasn´t. So here´s the fix.

FN: stac9227_83847618.zip available at post #1 .
Sorry, but only today was possible to put it online, cause insanely mac was giving error when trying to add the file.

Enjoy

Recently I exploded my mac installation and reinstalled 10.4.8 rather than 10.4.10. I retried your alc262 tests and I seem to be getting output through the internal speakers until I try to switch to headphones using hallab or system profiler, I get nothing through the headphones then and if I switch it back to speakers it won't play until I restart the system. it seems like the solution is really close!

There are some kext´s for alc262 at post #1, did you test them ? Had no success ?

ps - You´re the one with a Sony and mutted sound, right ?

After I saw all you peeps having luck trying older patchers I thought I would give some a try... So far I have had the same results using the 1.13 and 1.16 patchers. But if I try the 1.10 I actually get a input line in and a Internal Microphone. On output I get a Digital output (when clicked on my headphone jack has a red light that shines out of it) and for some reason I show 2 Line out outputs. Still no sound from my built in speakers and nothing from my headphones jack. sad.gif

Okie, I have mainboard Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 (875P - ICH5R) and the soundcard onboard: Realtek AC'97 ALC658 (5.1). After installed Jas 10.4.8 DVD + Jas 10.4.9 Combo Update + 10.4.10 Update, I got the sound works, no need to edit any kext!

But I have only 2.0 stereo work only! I try to set it up to 5.1 in Audio MIDI Setup but no luck also! I still hear only sound on left and right speakers! I used VLC player as well but the results is the same!

Do U know any solutions for my case?
Edit some values in Audio kext? or any patches?

Please give me some ideas

Thanks in advance!

Is your codec sigmatel 9220 ?! or other ?

look at post #1 , there's a repository of codec dumps, download the one you have
Then download applehda patcher v1.16
Then drag the codec dump .txt into the AppleHDA Patcher 'Turtle' icon.
