Valdemar,
Have you tried a linux livecd, and has the sound worked?
If it does, go into /proc/asound/card0
In this folder you will see AT LEAST a file called "codedc#0" but possible more, like "codec#1" and "codec#2"
One way or the other, one of these will contain information about your sound hardware. For example, for me, "codec#0" was my sound and "codec#1" was my modem.
Figure out which one it is (or take all of them and find out later) and copy it/them to a USB drive or a drive readable by OSX. After you get into OSX, drop the correct one into AppleHDAPatcher and let it go to town. There is a good chance that will work for you, I am to assume.
Happy Mac'ing!
Well, yes i did, i tryed different applications trying to get the audio enabled but no sound, i still searching for the right way to enable the sound hardware, and by the way, i guess i found something interesting in many old posts from here and other websites. when i have something clear or many progress, all the people from here will be advised...
thanx for your help anyway..

Heya,
Would this installed make the ALC888 on a ICH9 mobo fully functional? Or does it have to be ICH7?
I'm looking at getting one of the new Gigabyte P35-S3L mobos because it has ALC888, and I would love to have digital audio and so forth.
Cheers.

Haven't got sound to work on my P5K-VM board which uses the ALC883 chipset.
Tried the different dumps from the site but they didn't work so I made my own
from ubunto 7.04 but still no luck.
If anyone have a solution it would be great.
The only thing that works for me with the ALC883 chipset is the AzaliaAudio.pkg download from here:

If you don't post your specs, it's quite difficult to help you. Anyway, it seems that except for Realtek ALC88x series and Sigmatel 9200 sound chipsets, the rest of us have to wait 'til a new release of AppleHDA patch from Taruga or others (who knows) appears and solve the sound in-out issues.
A maybe silly question. It could be an approach for solve the trouble set up from the BIOS the AC97 vs HD Audio?

I used the Uphuck 1.4i r2 install dvd (thanks to the uphuck-team for this great work !!!) for installing OSX on my Asrock

v1.4i Main-System (of course ;-)
Patches
- loginwindow 10.4.4
- Remove CPUPowermanagement kext
- remove Thermal kexts
Drivers:
- VGA
- NVidia
- Natit 0.1
- AGPGart
- AGPGart V1.1
- System
- ICH8, ICH6
- VIA SATA/ATA
- NTFS-3G
- ext2fs
- Network
- Realtek R1000 (for my Realtek Network IFC)
- VIA Rhine (for onboard network IFC)
and all the applications
My HD is an PATA HD hanging on the first channel together with an LG cdrom on the second channel.
You must format the HD with a (MBR) master boot record (see partition/options in diskutil)
That works for me out of the box, even with my AGP Asus NVidia 6200
You can mail me, if I can help.
Edit: What I've forgotten: I used the AppleHDAPatcher 1.6 not the Azalia Audiodriver, that worked better for me (especially dig out)

Intel® High Definition Audio subsystem in one of the following configurations:
8-channel (7.1) audio subsystem with five analog audio outputs and two S/PDIF digital audio outputs (coaxial and optical) using the Sigmatel* 9274D audio codec

I tried several ways of getting sound to work without any luck. (I installed some ALC888 / 882 driver, hehe.. but that was before I realized that I could go to intels homepage to see what audiocard I had) I did get sound for some time, but no Mic. And now I get this message when trying to update:

Akshay, as for upgrading to 10.4.9, this is not the right topic to discuss it in, there are many topics about upgrading and jas installation, search for them. as for conexant, I don't have this particular brand but I'm assuming that there are many varieties of them in which case it would help if you got more detailed information on it and then searched this topic and others as well until you get a fairly good idea on the status of it. Then, if after searching you still do not have a reliable answer post detailed information about your audio and mobo. As for waiting to collect drivers before installing, I wouldn't worry about it, the hda patcher and codec files are very small and shouldn't slow you down much at all and it would help to have everything ready to go so that when someone gives you an answer you can test it out right away and post back here with the results.

Maybe your just suffering the same problems as all of us.
First of all, what are you system specs?
You can check them out with CPU-Z.
Secondly, in most cases, JaS DVD will quitte suffice. And you can upgrade even to 10.4.10.
I'm not sure which version of Taruga's patcher you should download, but why not start with the latest? If that doesn't work, try the one before than and so on.
Got it?
Next time, do a forum search before posting yor comments. Ok?
