My Scanner (Artec Ultima 2000) works not....

There are a lot of USB scanners, but not all of them had drivers.
Go to http://www.hamrick.com/vsm.html and seee if your scanner is supported with VueScan.
My Canon N656 has drivers but also works with this application.

Same scanner for me but blocking under x86
Check out this site http://www.ellert.se/twain-sane you can use SANE on most USB and SSCI scanners the site has links to other sites offering information on supported hardware
