Hi

My MIDI Keyboard is Evolution MK461C. The interface of it is USB.

It can be found in Application/Utiliies/Audio MIDI Setup.
It also can be found in the properties of MIDI tracks (the column at the left part of screen) in Logic.

But there is NO RECORD button in the MIDI tracks, only mute can I find.
And the MIDI Keyboard cannot be used in live playing, either.

How can I use it. (My OS is 10.4.3)

Thanks.

P.S. English is not my native language. Please forgive me, if I have made any mistake.

Hey Allen ,

Is your computer an Intel or PowerPC ?
Allan mac
Hi d-_-b,

My computer is Intel.

There is no driver for MAC OS on the offical web site.

I think you may have just answered your own question my brotha....

Devices wil not not function without drivers , either Plug n Play or software derivitives.

There may be a way , it just makes sense that it wouldn't work without a driver.
Allan mac
Well, I guess I have not discussed it well.

It is true that there is no offical driver.
But M-Audio Web Site says that the keyboard can work well without any driver.
There is only a explain on the driver downloading page.

And the keyboard is really can be found in OS.

Hi Allan, if your keyboard is listed in MIDI setup and Logic it means that the hardware is detected. That means M-audio is right stating you don't need a specific universal binary driver for OSX.

The problem must be elsewhere then. I don't know this keyboard but it could be that you can somehow switch between MIDI out and MIDI through mode. Check out your keyboard's manual and see if there could be something else preventing it from sending MIDI data.

On the receiving side, you might want to double-check the MIDI device setup in Logic if the MIDI in is there. Perhaps the MIDI in is switched off somewhere in the path. Also check the MIDI channel for recording. I would also try a different audio app that allows for MIDI recording.

Once again if your keyboard is recognised by OSX and even Logic there is no reason to fiddle with drivers.

cheers
