here's the deal...
i am trying once again on my primary system
dfi lanparty 875p-t lga775 P4 "520"
alc 655 ac97 audio
under system preferences...sounds
my output and input are enabled, everything is lit up, no greyed out items
under audio/midi setup, i can configure this to run 5.1 6-channel surround sound....
no audio from my speakers...
it seems that just discovered in xp that my front channel is not there, but everything else has sound
any ideas?

have you checked your BIOS settings in case the the front panel needs to be activated and it may be jumpered on the mainborard?
