Hi marianisla,
Thanks for that info! I thought it might be something like that..I reinstalled to 10.4.3 as my 10.4.6 and 10.4.7
DVD's would install but no boot. (Dell 4700) How did you take your machine to 10.4.6? Also when you say
never do any of the updates form apple, are you talking about the actual OS updates or all the others too..
iTunes, Quicktime etc...
Thanks for your input!

Look here you might find a solution...
QUOTE(toddicus @ Oct 12 2006, 12:22 AM)

-what type of video is it? just standard DV?
-how long ago did you update to 10.4.7? any chance it started when you updated? If you think it might have you might try replacing a private framework that came in 10.4.7 that seems to break .m2v imports coming into DVDSP, could be related.
-----
the private framework is /system/library/privateframeworks/appleVA.framework
the way you replace it is to use pacifist and just install that framework from the 10.4.6 update (or maybe DVD) and then repair permissions. It fixed my DVDSP, could fix this, I'd be interested to see.
good luck

Finally there is a solution
I follow those instructions and succesfully updated to 10.4.7, now DVDSP works importing assets and IMOVIE works great too and NO CRASHES AT ALL.
See ya
